Piccanell - A Swedish Smokeless Tobacco ClassicIf snus is an old Swedish tradition, then Piccanell is the classic smokeless tobacco, it dates back to the 17th century. Allready back then the name was associated with hand-spun tobacco, and to this day we still follow the original tradition. Piccanell is made of carefully selected tobacco, that's refined, put in aromatic sauce and is hand-spun in Arvika (Sweden). The spun string is then cut into small tobacco bites, a small piece of Piccanell is used just as regular Swedish snus. The tobacco used to make Piccanell is very high qulity Pennsylvania tobacco. The thin leafs are used as coverleafs for cigars; it's the finest, outer leaf on the cigar. The name Piccanell is thought to be a form of the italian word “piccante”, that means strong, spicy, piquant.
