Röda Lacket Snus - The RebelRöda Lacket is the second oldest snus brand in Sweden after Ettan. Röda Lacket was launched in 1850 by Petter Swartz Snusfactory. Petter Swartz arrives in a town called Norrköping 1751, within a couple of years he had built a large snusfactory. The tobacco was mainly grown on fields around S:t Johannes church and Ljura in Norrköping, were also three tobacco barns stod. The snus was sold all over Sweden. The factory made seven different snus kinds, but the most popular one was Röda Lacket. The most popular days for Röda Lacket was probably during the youth rebellion in 1968. Maybe the red color had something to do with that. Röda Lackets distinctive quality is the characteristic flavour and consistency. It has a mild and somewhat fruity flavour, with elements of licorice. The consistency is similar to clay, which makes the loose snus very easy to make into a “prilla” (the swedish name for a portion of loose snus). In 2005 Röda Lacket underwent a total makeover, both shapes and contents was renewed. The classic flavour was reinforced and a new design put in use. The design is surprising and stir up emotions. The new Röda Lacket is a natural extension of what Röda Lacket always stod for. The red color still symbolizes the cocky and rebellious nature of Röda Lacket.
