Röda Lacket SnusRöda Lacket is a colorful classic that never ceases to surprise. In 2006, we launched a campaign giving the brand 21 different lids to the snus cans. It has a fresh tobacco flavor with a touch of licorice. Its consistency makes it easy to pinch the loose snus together to put under your lip. Röda Lacket is our next oldest brand after Ettan. It was first launched in 1850 by the Petter Swartz Snusfabrik in Norrköping, Sweden. It started as a favorite in the countryside of Småland in south-central Sweden, but it quickly spread in popularity to the whole county. Röda Lacket then gained wide popularity during the youth revolt of the 1960s, perhaps due to the brand’s red color. Röda Lacket is not afraid of change, so we gave it a new content and look in 2006. We strengthened its classic flavors and bought out a powerful new design—a natural move for this cocky and rebellious brand. The tradition of continual renewal started already in the time of Peter Swartz. He made his name by switching from paper cone packaging in common use at the time—introducing the revolutionary concept of selling snus in specially designed metal cans. Röda Lacket is a snus that both surprises and awakens the senses—not least with its characteristic flavor and consistency. It’s mild and slightly fruity, with a sense of licorice, and it’s special consistency forms easily into a solid pinch to place under your lip.
