Northerner - The Purified Snus
Purified Snus
Northerner is a purified white portion tobacco snus. Both Northerner Original and Northerner Citrus/ Menthol is available in 3mg and 6mg. There is also the Northerner Wine & Dine snus (6mg) that is a flavourless snus.
Northerner portion snus contains nicotine but is purified from undesirable constituents in the finnished product. Among these are nitrosamines that can cause cancer. This is why the Northerner portion snus can be called a purified. Northerner is based on pure tobacco and only cleared provisions additives.
Northerner portion is a dry snus that get it's moisture from saliva, so wet it with your tongue before putting it under your lip. Because Northerner portion is a dry snus it also has a long durability without beeing stored in a refrigerator.
Nitrosamines
Nitrosamines is a group of substances that we find in smaller quantities, in a lot of different foods. It can also take form in the stomach. The tobacco related nitrosamines is a problem in all products that has nicotine in them, but are especially dangerous when you smoke.
You can find nitrosamines in smoking tobacco as well as in snus – but the levels varies. Smoking is considered to be the biggest source of exposure, partly because the burning make your lungs absorb more.
The National Food Administration in Sweden has studied the nitrosamines in snus. They have noted that the levels of nitrosamines in swedish snus has decreased over the years.
The Can
The Northerner can is thin, slim and made in an environmentally friendly and recyclable material. The can has two separate compartments: one for fresh snus and one for used.
Because Wise portion is a dry snus it also has a long durability without beeing stored in a refrigerator.
