Go back Our Göteborgs Prima Fint, Loose ReviewLaunched in 1919 and made in Göteborg, Sweden by Swedish Match, Göteborgs Prima Fint is classified as a fine grind snus which means that the tobacco is ground in to pieces that are similar to a fine powder and, when moisture is added, the feel is that of wet flour. This can make it difficult for the beginner in hand baking to mold a prilla and keep its shape in the lip but with experience, or a tool, the prilla is pretty comfortable in the lip and holds its shape for over 2 hours with the flavor lasting just about as long. Each can of Göteborgs Prima Fint loose has 45 grams of snus and a Nicotine content of 8 mg per gram. The amount will vary though depending on the size of the prilla. The can is made of the same traditional paperboard bottom, that’s common with Swedish Match’s loose snus brands, with a thin layer of food grade paraffin wax to keep the snus fresh. The lid is made from gold colored plastic, with the Swedish Snus logo embossed on the top, and makes a pretty good seal with the bottom but, enough about the can, let’s talk about the flavor! Swedish Match describes Göteborgs Prima Fint as a snus with a pure and slightly sweet tobacco flavor. What we taste is the mild flavors of the hand selected tobaccos from around the world that gives Göteborgs Prima Fint a light, peaty and earthy taste and also gives it a slight sweetness. There is a hint of the needed salt as well but what makes Göteborgs Prima Fint unique to loose snus is the fact that the flavors are really light! Most loose snus tends to have stronger flavors, kind of like a regular portion snus minus the saltiness. In Göteborgs Prima Fint, the flavors are not overpowering and we think that’s what will make it a great snus for beginners who want to experience loose without the strong flavor but, this is what we think. Takes a while to get used to, but is a good loose snus. It is easy to bake and has a slight tobacco taste. Okay hit. I like it.

This is one of my favorite Los Snuses. It bakes very easily and the hit is mild and consistent. I have yet to recieve a bad can. Many times the whole can is just one big chunk of tobacco and I really like that.

damned fine snus! my favorite, after the extinction of diplomat, and gellivare from the market. it is mild, it is silky smooth, it doesn't hurt your lip like the american products, and the flavor is good tobacco.

Well I have just recieved my order and tried real snus for the first time, I am a former dipper and chewer of two years. This was one of the four cans in my order and I have to say, I disapointed. I can bareley taste this at all, let alone distinguish flavor. The other brands I got were skruf tranbar, rodalocket and general portion. This stuff is so dam salty, and they all taste the same to me....well thats not fair the general tastes saltier and nastier. I want to enjoy these but I dont know if I can I just have too much of a sweet tooth. I'll probably go with the sweetest flavors of snus in my next order, none of these.

One of my favorites. I'm supprised it ranks below Grov and Knox. Very fine consistency, which some like and some don't. Some here have described it as mild flavored. I disagree. I think it is somewhat bold, pure tobacco flavor, but not at all harsh. This one might be a good first snus for those switching from American dip.

THIS SNUS IS FANTASTIC. The flavor is subtle, sweet and understated. It hand bakes beautifully, and once formed feels perfectly shaped and smooth in your lip -- the only downside is it begins to degrade and slide fairly quickly -- within 30 to 40 minutes, leaving you with 'blacktooth' That being said, i still like to keep a tin of this handy because it is definitely Prima and Fint.

Nice and mild, easy to bake, but i use a pris tool anyway but a little weak, but nonehteless very enjoyable espically if you are looking for a beginner snus as i was.If you are just discovering loose snus and not sure which one to try, i highly recommend this one to start with!

Reading Vince's comment, I'd hoped I would have liked this better than I did. It was very easy to bake into a prilla, as it was as fine as mud. However, it really didn't have the strong tobacco taste I prefer in other lossnus like Probe or ETTAN.
If you like a no additive/flavored loose with a mild tobacco taste (almost sweet), and find the others I mention to be too strong in tobacco flavor, this might be right for you.

I really like this. Similar to Roda Lacket in its clay-like consistency, which makes it really easy to bake. No-nonsense taste a la Ettan and Grov. Anyone looking to try lös without making a mess could easily start with this one.

The texture is really interesting because it has this muddy feeling to it. The taste is fine and one of the best features of this snus to me is that when this snus starts to leak, it is fine and not very annoying and you can continue snusing without feeling uncomfortable.

Göteborgs Prima Fint was my first lös, and it was a good lös to start with. It is fine grained so it makes for easy hand baking. The flavor is pretty mild, pure tobacco with a hint of sweetness.

Göteborgs Prima Fint is a very fine ground snus without any flavors added. It reminds me of Ettan Loose except a very fine grind and milder salty taste. Bottom line, very fine grind, plain no flavors added snus.
