Go back Our Kronan, Loose ReviewLaunched in 2006 by Swedish Match AB and made in Göteborg, Sweden, Kronan loose snus is another member of the “Value Priced” snus family. Kronan loose is classed as a medium grind loose which means that the tobacco pieces are a bit larger than the fine grind type. This leaves the surface area of each piece larger and easier to mold into a prilla. Also, medium ground snus tends to hold a prilla’s shape better, no matter if you use a tool or hand mold it, but doesn’t last as long. The prilla we tested was made with a 3 ml tool and kept its shape for about 2 hours but, a hand molded prilla would probably lasted about an hour and a half before it began to fall apart but the flavor with either prilla could have lasted much longer! Each can of Kronan loose snus has 45 grams of snus with a Nicotine content of 8 mg per gram. Kronan loose’s can is the traditional paperboard can that Swedish Match uses in all of its loose snus brands and the gold plastic lid stays pretty snug to the bottom keeping the flavor and moisture in really well but, your more interested in the taste so, let’s talk about that now! Kronan loose is one of a small family of “Value Priced” snus brands in the Swedish Match family but doesn’t have the taste of one. Typically, people tend to think that “value brands” mean lower quality. With Kronan loose, this is not the case. Kronan loose is really complex in the fact that there is the same kind of tobacco used in a lot of Swedish Match’s regular priced brands along with quality flavorings of citrus and herbs. When these are combined, we get a peppery, dill flavored snus! Not like fresh dill but, the same taste of a dill pickle. It’s pretty much the same flavor as the portion version just not as salty. We think it’s really unique but, we’ll let you decide! So, why not add a can or two of Kronan loose snus to your next order and judge for yourself! Be sure to add your own review on what you taste. Just got my first icetool (was using a pris master beforehand) and I have to say Kronan los, has a nice flavor, mild hint of lemon a, for lack of a better term 'flowery' smell and taste but, also a nice tobacco flavor. I quite enjoy it, and for the price how can you go wrong? In sum, good stuff. Order a can.

.....This was my first try out of 17 cans 5 years ago....and STILL my favorite....I believe that the scent is from the Herb "Clary Sage"....I love the aroma and taste!!!!!

This was one of the last cans from a sampler pack I got weeks ago. I saved it to last as it was described here as low priced so I assumed it would be low quality.
I spotted it in the back of my snus fridge so tried some today. I was pleasantly suprised. It is mild in strength but the flavour I would not describe as lemon at all, I can't put my finger on it but it tastes like a candy from my childhood. Not strong enough for me as morning snus but good enough for a lazy afternoon.

Terrible snus, I had to give this one away. The Lemon flavour is too strong and tends to be messy in the mouth.

I think gin smells like watered down turpentine and Kronan Smells like watered down gin. I have not had a drink of gin in about 25 years so I could be wrong
 If you're going to try Kronan try ONE can before you stock up on it.

General was my preferred los but it has been replaced by Kronan. It is not as fine cut and the flavor is wonderful. It is really smooth and forms a clean pris.

Kronan Lös is a snus I really liked. It's coarse grained and the mild tobacco flavor seems to take a backseat to the flavor of citrus (predominatly lemon to my taste). There is another flavor I can't really put my finger on, but 'flowery' seems to describe it best.
