Go back Our Röda Lacket, Loose ReviewMade in Göteborg, Sweden by Swedish Match, Röda Lacket loose snus is classified as a Fine grind type loose snus meaning that the tobacco used in Röda Lacket is ground to almost a powder type consistency before going thru the flavoring and packaging process. This type of grind makes the snus easy to hand mold prillas as well as using the tool of your choice to make them. For our review, we used both methods to make the prillas and had the tool made ones last for over 2 hours before they began to fall apart. The hand formed ones lasted about 2 hours. The flavor seemed like it would go on forever but we maxed it at the 2 ½ hour mark. This kind of grind is also pretty comfortable under the lip for the entire time as well! Röda Lacket’s can is made from a paperboard bottom with a gold plastic lid and paper label. Some think that the paperboard cans are less efficient in keeping the snus moist and fresh but, with the thin layer of food grade, paraffin wax lining the inside of the can and the outer rim, the can stays sealed really well and keeps the snus fresh just as well as the plastic cans but, our can obsession is showing, let’s talk flavors! Röda Lacket’s flavor is just as complex as its portion type sibling who has a light tobacco flavor and the taste of red berries and Licorice. The unique thing is that while some have tasted a slightly sweet licorice flavor; others have tasted lightly sweet, red berries like Strawberries. In either case, these flavors along with a slight saltiness give Röda Lacket loose snus a character all its own but, this is what we taste. We’d like to hear what you think! So why not give a can of Röda Lacket loose snus a try and see what flavors you can detect! Be sure to leave us a review of your own and let us know what you taste, we’ll be looking forward to reading it!

One of the best - very comfortable on the gums due to the finer ground. Nice flavor. I've tried many los brands and this has become my favorite. Montecristo is excellent but expensive and hard to get.

Tastes so good I find myself eating this stuff so when I'm done with a prilla there's not a hell of a lot left to spit out

Just got mine in the mail today. Used an Icetool, held nice. It is a fantastic snus. Great flavor!

Just got mine today. Tried it immediately with the Prismaster tool. EXCELLENT snus, going in every order.

Very, very good snus - easy to bake (it has the consistency of Play-Doh) and with a long lasting deep fruity flavour, something between figs and dates.
I personally don't get any liquorice flavour. Excellent for those just starting off with lös snus like myself.

I am primarily an american dipper. However, I can bake a prilla by hand and enjoy snus a lot. General Ekstra Sterk Lös is my favorite snus so far. With that being said I was bit taken back by the flavor of Röda Lacket. I enjoy a peppery type of flavor but I am trying to broaden my pallete. I can't say it was unbelievably unpleasant. However, I do not believe I will buy this snus again.

Not bad. But no fruit taste detected:)General lössnus still best in my experience

When I first started snusing, I ordered a sample pack, and there were several that I enjoyed very much, including Gottbourg Prima Fint, Ettan, and Roda Lacket. After a few more variety packs, I settled on Roda Lacket. This chew has a pleasent aroma, not unlike my dad's Red Man chew, and not at all like American dip. The taste is very balanced and not at all harsh, and like other comentators I detect a slight (not overpowering) sweetness and fruity notes. This is my go to snus. I order this stuff by the roll now.

another perfect hand-baker. it forms up perfectly and doesn't slide for at least an hour. I enjoy the flavor of this much more than the portions -- though the fruitiness of this snus can be a bit much for my tastes as i tend to lean towards to saltier smokier flavors. Still highly recommended

Great mild overall taste and great for beginners if you are new to snus or not i highly recommend this one.

This an all time favorite of mine, its not to over powering
and has just the right tobacco taste with a mild fig/fruity taste. Enjoy

Nice for a change but not a steady snus for me.
If you're looking for a change from the same old thing though give it a try.

I love this loose snus, it's the only one I have used extensively. I go out fishing a lot and I use it out on the water that way I have my portions for at home. The only thing I have noticed is that the pris falls apart fairly early. This is most likely no fault of this fine snus, as I have not had much practice baking loose snus. I have a prismaster on the way and I will probably add to this review after I get that and try it out.

RL los is another of my favourites. Nice taste, not too overpowering, and good kick. Pris tends to stay together fairly well too.

What can I say, it's another Swedish Match winner. The first thing I noticed was that the tobacco flavor was very mild, nothing harsh or bitter. Light salt content, so those that don't like the salt would probably enjoy this. I get the same fruity undertones in the lossnus that I do with roda lacket portions, only much lighter.
This would be a great "starter" lossnus for someone wanting to try los for the first time. This snus is finely ground, and would hand bake easily and works very well with the pris master or Icetool. By far one of my favorite snus flavors. To leave a comment or review, press the button |
