Go back Our Thunder Extra Stark, Loose ReviewLaunched in 2009 and made by V2 Tobacco in Silkeborg, Denmark, Thunder loose is classified as a coarse ground snus which means that the tobacco pieces are a bit larger than the fine grind type. This leaves the surface area of each piece larger and easier to mold into a prilla. Also, coarser ground snus tends to hold a prilla’s shape longer no matter if you use a tool or hand shape it. The prilla we tested was made with a 3 ml tool and kept its shape for over 2 hours before it began to fall apart but the flavor could have lasted much longer! Each can of Thunder Extra Stark loose has 45 grams of snus and a Nicotine content of 16 mg per gram. The can is made from black plastic, both top and bottom and together make a pretty tight seal to keep the freshness and flavor in but, enough about the can, let’s take a look at the flavor! If you’ve read our other reviews on V2’s snus, you’ll remember that they are known for making snus that pushes the boundaries of traditional snus flavors out the window by making some of the strongest and most uniquely flavored snus on the market. Thunder Extra Stark Original loose is definitely in that category in strength but in flavor we were really surprised! Not that the flavor is bad, on the contrary. Thunder Extra Stark Original’s flavor is of high quality tobaccos from all corners of the globe combined with a bit of salt and a subtle citrus taste that gives the snus a really well rounded flavor. There is actually an earthy, almost chocolate scent and flavor in Thunder Original loose but what really surprised us was how subtle the overall flavor is! It’s not the really intense amount of flavor that V2 is known for but a light, mellow flavor that we think snus users looking for a pure tobacco flavored loose will really enjoy but, this is what we think, we want to hear what you think! I don't care for it. Taste is not strong enough for me and I don't get the big nic hit here. Maybe its just me. Also don't like the texture.

the Nic hit from this is phenomonal - sat nice and tasty there for 10 or so minutes, then POW... Great. I've never been a fan of V2 products, got this as a free sample. It will now definitely be a regular in my rotation

This is a great strong los snus that needed to be made to compete with Skruf Stark los since the demise of Nick & Johnny los. I agree that it is the best thing that V2 have made (in fact it's the only thing I like of theirs) - so if you've had bad experiences with Offroad or Phantom - don't let this put you off. The taste is subtle - slightly sweet and less salty than the average snus.

Thunder los is the best V2 product I've had so far! Very strong snus, that comes on slowly and stays for a long time. Great product, must try for anyone that wants a little extra perk in their snus.
