Go back Our Granit Maxi, Portion ReviewLaunched in 2004 by Fiedler & Lundgren, Granit Maxi portion is classified as a Maxi portion which, in Granit, means two things actually. First, Maxi portions are basically regular type portions that have more snus in them. They still go thru the final step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the portions prior to going in the can. Second, Fielder & Lundgren made Granit Maxi’s portion a bit longer than the standard Maxi. This allows the snus to spread out across the gums more and helps to get the Nicotine out faster. The material that Fielder & Lundgren uses for Granit maxi is the same soft material they use in all their portions and is comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is about 2 ½ hours. Each can of Granit Maxi has 20, 1.5 gram portions with each having 12 mg of Nicotine. The can is made of black plastic with curved edges on the top and bottom which makes it easier to get the can in and out of your pocket but unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in the lid but, enough about the can, let’s take a look at Granit Maxi’s flavor! Granit Maxi’s flavor is pretty much the same as its smaller sibling, Granit original which Fielder & Lundgren describes as being of pure tobacco. While we agree that the tobacco is the predominant flavor, we taste a few other subtle elements. The tobacco actually has a light black pepper taste while having a subtle sweetness in the background. This sweetness shows up as a sweet, herbal flavor, albeit a very light one. The salt in Granit Maxi also helps to bring out both the herbal sweetness and the earthy tobacco flavor while adding the traditional Swedish snus taste. While this is what we taste in Granit Maxi portion snus, we would like to know what you think! Nice try at a good idea BUT
 You get less for your money.  This can is more expensive than a Granit Regular portion yet has only 21g of snus in 14 pouches (1.5g each). Granit regular has 24g in 24 pouches. You can get the same experience of more snus with the regular portion by using TWO pouches. This gives you .5g more snus than the Maxi while allowing you to place one pouch on either side of your mouth allowing for a better fit than one maxi pouch.
Having said all that, this is a good quality snus with great citrus/salt tobacco flavor similar to General - satisfying overall and recommended......in the regular portion

this is a great maxi -- the problem with other maxi's is that they're the same shape as other portions only bigger - making them less discreet -- the granit makes their portions long and skinny so you can have the joy of a maxi portion, with the discretion of a regular
plus the taste is wonderful, good - straight up snus

Fiedler and Lundgren do it again! 5 stars. Granit in loose or portion is in my top 5 snus of all time! The nice thing about the Maxi portion is that it is about as potent as a regular portion of Stark snus. Since Granit doesn't have a strong snus, this (or loose Granit) can get you that nicoteine that you need.
