Go back Our L.D Original, Mini Portion ReviewPackaged in a sleek, thin black can and unique, hinged lid, on its used portion compartment, LD Original Mini portion snus is a regular mini type portion snus made by JTI Sweden AB. If you’ve read our other reviews, you’ll remember that regular type portions go thru the additional step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the material that aids the flavors in the snus to marry together and release its flavor faster when it’s in the lip. The Mini classification means that the portions are about half the size of a regular sized portion. The portion material that JTI uses in LD Original Mini is the same soft material they use in all their snus and is pretty comfortable in the lip for around an hour which is about how long the flavor lasts. Each can of LD Original Mini contains 24 portions that have approximately .4 grams of snus with each one having 4 mg of Nicotine. Now that you know the basics about LD Original Mini, let’s take a look at the flavor. JTI describes LD Original Mini as having a pure and rather mild tobacco flavor with hints of bergamot, just like its larger sized sibling. What we taste is mild flavored tobacco along with bergamot as well but the strength of the flavors was pretty light. What we mean by light is that the flavor is not as intense as you would expect a regular or original type portion to be. The strength of them could be more closely related to what it would be in a White portion. This is not necessarily a bad thing though. The flavors in LD Original Mini are still of high quality tobaccos and bergamot, which has a flavor that’s a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit, with a hint of salt they’re just not as strong as you would think they would be. We think LD Original Mini would be a great portion snus for beginners that want to start tasting what regular portions are or, long time snus users looking for a lighter tasting snus in a smaller, more discreet size but, we’ll leave that decision up to you! This is another good snus flavored snus, not the candy stuff. Small can for discretion and decent flavor. Price makes it a nice go to for a light relaxing use of decent quality but I did not find it to last too long. I leave mine in until I remember to take them out. Never felt I waisted money with it though. There have been some that I have, as in everything they seem to offer in the U.S. short of General. I will purchase again.
