Go back Our Gotland Yellow, Portion ReviewGotlandssnus Original portion snus is another fine snus manufactured by the folks at Gotlandssnus AB. Gotlandssnus Original, or Gotland’s Yellow (Gul) as it’s more commonly known, is classified as a regular type portion because it goes thru an additional step in the manufacturing process to add additional moisture to each portion. This additional moisture helps the flavors in the snus meld together and brings the flavors out faster. Each can of Gotland’s Original has 24, one gram portions with 9mg of Nicotine each. The portion material used in Original is the same teabag type material used in all Gotlandssnus snus and is soft and comfortable under the lip for about 2 hours! Gotlandssnus also uses a variety of tobacco from around the world to produce Gotland’s Original including Alida tobacco that’s actually grown on the island of Gotland, Sweden where Original is made. The can that Gotlandssnus uses for Original is made of gray plastic with a plastic, snap-on lid which makes a great seal to keep it on when it’s in your pocket or bag! The label is a paper material and does not extend over the lid. It’s really not needed because the lid, when snapped down, is pretty secure but there is no used portion compartment on Gotland’s Original. Ok, enough about the can, let’s go on to the flavor. Gotlandssnus Original’s flavor is actually pretty simple! By simple we mean only the great taste of well rounded tobacco, a lemon/grapefruit (bergamot) flavor with a touch of pepper and salt. Some people have noticed a slight herbal flavor but it’s actually the taste of the Alida tobacco coming thru! The portions flavor also lasts a good amount of time with the average being about 2 hours. Even though we call it simple, it’s pretty unique in its own rite but we’ll let you decide! Simply the best citrus snus! Wonderful alida tobacco with it's alkaline Gitanes like flavour blend so perfectly with the mellow citrus flavour. A top quality product all round.

Flavor was OK. Based on reviews, I expected more. Acidic or just didn't sit well, gave me heart burn. I will give it another shot in a few days.

Excellent Snus! Subtle flavors, no leak. Tastes like earl gray tea for those who have ever had a cup. Mild Bergamot flavor is almost floral. Nice and smooth. Cant say enough about it. It's one of those that doesn't generate a huge reaction positive or negative flavor and feel wise and thats a good thing. Smooth and low-key
 . It's a regular in my rotation.

Best so far. Tried I think 5 flavors. Have the green in the fridge but haven't tried it yet. The originals and mints don't sit too well with me. Leaps and bounds better than those. Still getting used to snusing but this has a good citrus/orange/grapefruit flavor. I'm using snus to stop dipping and enjoying the experience.

Gotland Green is so good, I bought some Yellow. Yellow is so good, I've got some Gotland Original on the way. You just can't seem to get anything less than great with any Gotland snus. In my Top 10, you'll find Green and Yellow (and I've tried 37 different snus). I don't know if it's the Alida tobacco or what, but you can't go wrong with this brand.

Very good snus. Nice lasting power and more of a mild flavor than some of the other varieties like General. I usually like a good, strong flavor but sometimes I want something a little more mild but still want my regular nic kick. This suits that need perfectly. I don't find any of the odd flavors some describe below, just a mild "regular" snus flavor. 5 stars.

Not as big of a fan as this as the other Gotland brands, but still isn't bad, but pretty good. To me the taste was similar to orange juice, but not completely overpowering.

Really nice. All the Gotlands snus varieties are top of the line but the Gotlands Green is supreme.

This snus tastes like a spicy persimmon fruit. I have never tasted anything like this, except a persimmon. Thats all I can compare the flavor to. Very odd flavor, I used to eat persimmon fruit all the time as a kid. Really enjoy this snus, and I gave it five stars. Every portion is like memory lane.
 A+ for the Gotland Yellow. Wow, what a great snus. Do they cultivate persimmon fruit in Sweden? That seems unlikely given the climate, still just can't believe how much it tastes like a persimmon. lol

Probably will never buy this again. To me it has some wierd flavor that I just don't like. I think it's bergamot or maybe it's just soap, I really don't know. I still have most of the can and I'm not writing it completely off just yet, because every time I put another portion in it gets slightly more tolerable. Who knows I might even end up loving it by the end of the can. Not going to give it a star rating because it is getting better with each use.

Great stuff. Distinctive but not overwhelming taste. Definitely going to be a regular buy for me. Gotlandssnus has quickly become one of my favorite brands.

Such a wonderful snus. It is not to powerful but gives off a great lasting flavor. It is my number one, and I have tried them all. I also appreciate Gotlands in-house production. Very high quality.
