Go back Our Gustavus Original, Portion ReviewGustavus Original portion snus is a regular type portion snus manufactured by the folks at JTI Tobacco in Sweden. Being classed as a regular portion means that each portion gets an additional wetting before being packaged in the can to help the flavors in the snus meld together and come out quicker! Each can of Gustavus Original portion has 24, one gram portions with each having 8 mg of Nicotine. The material is the same kind that’s typically used in most portion snus and is quite comfortable in the lip for up to 1 ½ hours. Gustavus Original portion’s can has recently had a facelift from its former grey plastic can and metallic plastic label to a modern, curved edge, black plastic can with a hinged, metallic lid for its used portion compartment cover. They also embossed the Gustavus logo in it as well! The label is also plastic and seals the lid and bottom much better. While the can is really cool looking, the taste is what’s important!

I love Gustavus. I think it has a bold, peppery tobacco flavor that melds amazingly well with the other flavors. I gave it 5 stars.
The portion material to me seems to be softer than most at the beginning, but if left in for too long, say over an hour or so, it does get a bit rough.

Too bad they discontinued the tan can. That was the best snus I ever had. Whenever there's something good, you can bet the idiots in charge will kill it.

This snus, to me is very mellow, I liked it but forgot to order it this time, made me a bit sad. However, the taste is there from beginning to end, which for me is about two or three hours. Love this snus.

It is really flowerish as the rose like flavour can be tasted after a while. I think it can be used with earl grey or black breakfast tea. Not suitable for using with coffee or beer.

 My longtime favorite, but I also prefer the older lid (bigger, easier to open)
I've also enjoyed General and Ettan, but this is the one I keep coming back to.

pretty good. good value. tastes a lot like skruf. the portions seem to hurt my gums a bit if i use it all day. i like the design of the tin, and the hinged lid. i might buy some more.
