Our Offroad Licorice, Portion Review

Made by V2 Tobacco in Silkeborg, Denmark, Offroad Licorice portion snus is classified as a regular portion snus since each portion goes thru a final step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them that aids in the flavors melding together and also helps the flavor come out faster once it’s in your lip. The material that V2 uses in Offroad Licorice is the same teabag type material that is used in all their portion snus which is comfortable in the lip for over an hour and a half. Each can of Offroad Licorice contains 24, one gram portions with each having 8 mg of Nicotine. The can is the typical black plastic that V2 uses for all its snus and does not have a used portion compartment but, the flavor description is why you’re here so, let’s take a look! V2 wanted to make Offroad Licorice’s flavor to be unlike any other licorice flavored snus on the market and they did just that! While the flavor is unmistakably black licorice, as most other snus with the same flavor is, V2 did something that only a few others have done. V2 took the flavor to the extreme by making the black licorice taste a bit sweet while letting the tobacco flavor come thru as a background flavor. As the portion’s licorice flavor begins to mellow out, it mixes with the salt and tobacco to create a smooth tasting portion snus that’s pretty unique. While this is what we think Offroad Licorice portion snus tastes like, we would like to read what you think about it. So, why not add a can or two of Offroad Licorice portion snus to your next order and leave us a review on what you taste. We’ll be looking forward to reading it!

I'm a big fan of some of V2's other products (Frosted ES, and Coola ES), but I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with this one. The licorice flavor isn't very strong to begin with, and what flavor it does have drops off too quickly. The salt content seemed to be a little too high also for my tastes. Last but not least, like a previous reviewer noted, the nicotine content seemed to be even less than a normal 8mg/g portion. Overall, not the worst snus I've tried, but I definitely won't be ordering more.

Bought this hoping for a good substitute for Odes's Licorice, Since the FDA's new rules have caused ever increasing prices and the demise of many choices. I can say that I am completely satisfied with this product. The material is cheaper, which now and then comes apart. Flavors is good very similar to Odens. The can sucks as many do; to resolve this I reuse a Gotland Anis Loose can which seals well and is black like the soul of licorice. This is my favorite with a runner up of Fellinni/Offroad White licorice

Flavor is weak at best. First portion out of a fresh can gives a nice licorice bite, but it quickly drops to a salty mash. Anything after that, ie 20 minutes in or a new pouch, just tastes like salty sweetened tobacco. I am far from satisfied. The nicotine content is questionable and I would simply give the same advice I've always been given, "sounds too good and usually is". The price is right, but you pay for what you get. I'd advise that you spend the extra money on Jakobssons portion.
