Go back Our Skruf Cranberry, Portion ReviewSkruf Tranbär (cranberry) portion snus is a regular type portion snus made by the folks at Skruf AB. It’s classed as a regular portion because it goes thru an extra step, prior to being put in the can, which adds a bit more moisture to the portion to help bring out the flavor, faster. Each can of Skruf Tranbär has 24, 1 gram portions with 9 mg of Nicotine each. As in all Skruf snus, only the top and mid leafs of the tobacco are used which allow their snus to be naturally higher in Nicotine than its competitors. The portion material Skruf uses in Tranbär is the same basic material that’s typically used in portion snus and is pretty comfortable in the lip, even after 2 hours! Skruf Tranbär’s all white can and plastic label, that makes a great seal between the lid and the bottom, does have the used portion compartment in the lid with the “Skruf” name embossed on the cap. So, how does it taste, you may ask? That may surprise you! Skruf Tranbär (cranberry) has a complex flavor that differs from its scent. While the main flavor of Skruf Tranbär is very close to a lightly sweetened cranberry juice, its scent in the can is of a cranberry-banana type mix with little to no ammonia smell that’s typical with Swedish snus. Other flavors in Tranbär include a light tobacco, slight peppery background and a hint of banana. These flavors, along with the cranberry, make Skruf Tranbär a great tasting snus that’s as close to what Americans think cranberry snus should taste like! While the portion does stay comfortable in the lip for over 2 hours, we recommended a 1 ½ hour max due to the portion’s taste can go a bit bitter after that. No cranberry here, instead a light, mild mixed berry taste with a pleasant aroma. I also detect some banana in there. This is a refreshing snus, but tends to turn sour at the 45 minute mark. Also the portions seem much thicker than normal. 3 stars, I'll order a can every couple shipments.

I didn't like it, perhaps I received a bad can. It didn't taste like cranberry at all. It had a banana taste. All my coworkers agreed with the banana taste.

A good medium-strength snus. Don't get this if you don't like bitter flavors. The cranberry is more of aroma than a taste. Flavor lasts long. Not very salty. Portions are long-ish and tightly packed.

As a Skruf fan, I found it both Skruffy (which is good!) and with a delicious taste somewhere between Cranberry and Red Rope Liqourice... it's CRAN-tastic!

Fast becoming one of ny favorites.
Skruf quality and taste. Don't believe the few negative reviews. I have 9 cans left of my roll. I just ordered 20 more cans of Tranbar.

Just received my US order that had 2 cans of Tranbar. It smells like cranberry and tastes like cranberry too. I can also taste the tobacco. It's a mild nicotine hit; not bad at all. I like this snus as an "after-meal" treat in place of a smoke.

Great for something different. I didn't find the cranberry strong, but shared some with a friend who couldn't stand it (I told you it was cranberry!). This is a great, few times a week, change of pace portion. The cranberry mellows out, but overall lasts a long time

Skruf cranberry was my first snus. the taste is mild and flavoured, really enjoyable. I given up smoking thanks to his fantastic flavour. this is my everyday snus

I want to start out by saying I'm a fan of Skruf products. This one has a very light cranberry taste that doesn't overpower the tobacco flavor. A nice change during course of the week, a winner for me.

This in an interesting snus to say the least. The portion bag is very moist, but doesn't sit very comfortable in the lip. To begin with, the cranberry taste is subtle and "tart", to be honest i taste more the the skruf trademark pepper flavor than cranberry. After about 10-15 minutes, the snus becomes much more enjoyable because the tart cranberry flavor turns much sweeter. The nic-hit is average. I give it a 3.8/5 and this will occasionally be in my orders.

This is an awesome snus. Definitely will be included in future orders. There's no tobacco flavor present, and the berry flavor is thankfully not overpowering. Nice and mild. This would be a good choice for girl snusares (who aren't afraid of original portions).

Great berry aroma. I have to agree with the other reviews that it isn't exactly cranberry, but I like it just fine. I'm normally a fan of saltier, tobacco flavored snuses, but this is a nice addition to my order occasionally. Skruf, in general, makes some great tasting snus. My only gripe is that their portions are not as moist as some other brands.

Skruf Cranberry...it's definitely berry flavored.
I really like cranberry. It seemed like cranberry snus would be perfect for me. However, my first thoughts were "no, this is wrong, all wrong." The taste is not unpleasant, I can see why others may enjoy it, but it didn't taste cranberry to me. More like a mixed-berry chewing gum flavor, I think. Or maybe mixed-berry jam. Like all Skruf products, the stuff is quality, but this flavor just wasn't for me.

This is my favorite snus that I have tried with a noticeable flavor, highly recommend, I usually only use white portions but I gladly enjoy a little bit of cranberry juice, not bitter like you'd think.

This is the stuff. The flavor is amazing! It has a very nice hint of a sweetness with a little tartness in the cranberry flavor. It is very balanced and enjoyable. My only gripe is the low nicotine amount. 9mg is just not enough for me as I usually have Skruf Stark portions. Now if they made a Skruf Stark Cranberry, it would be my #1 or #2 snus absolutely.
I will probably add 1 or 2 of these on each of my orders of Skruf Stark, just because of the great flavor they have.

At first try i was not a fan as i found the cranberry flavor a bit tart but after a couple of days i too found it ti be on my top ten list. Great taste and long lasting flavor, easy on the gums as well. If at first you don't like it don't give up until you try it a few more times, then decide!

[FONT=Optima] I have converted from American Snuff. Best thing I ever did. More pure product, clear listing of content, no tobacco through my mouth. Swedish snus is more based on the tobacco plus a flavor rather than the American Snuff which tries to hide the tobacco with an overwhelming flavor. This is a perfect example. A decent nic hit, a nice aroma, tangy first taste followed by tobacco with intermittent hint of cranberry. This is Number 2 after Claq Qui on my fave's list.

Good snus. A more synthetic flavor then say Rape 2. However the smell and taste are pleasant and reminscent of something I cant quite put my finger on. Im not a big flavored snus guy but this one was a pleasant suprise. Hardly any salt, the flavor is not overpowering in the least, and the nic hit was up to par.

Not a bad snus but for me it would'nt be something i want to use on a daily basis. Taste is not overtly sweet or powerful, decent nic kick. It's actualy somewhat similar to the american skoal berry blend pouches in terms of overall taste, but less candy like and portion material is of better quality. Does tend to drip more then the other swedish snus i've tried thus far but for me it was'nt a big negative.

This was the first Skruf I tried. If you're looking for a good cranberry snus, I'd go with Rape No.2. But if you like both that and the taste of Skruf, this is for you. It doesn't have the same nicotine kick as regular Skruf, however. I really don't see myself ordering more of this in the future.

This is one of the best kinds fruit-flaved snus I've tried. The cranberry taste is not very sweet or sour, but it is still recognizably cranberry, and it still lasts a long time. I wish it came in a white portion or strong portion variety, but just the same it's well-worth the money.
