Go back Our Taboca, Portion ReviewTaboca portion snus is a regular type portion snus manufactured by the folks at Taboca AS. Taboca is classified as a regular portion snus which means that the portions go thru a final step prior to packaging that adds additional moisture to the portions to aid in the flavors melding together and allows the taste to come out quicker in the lip. Each can of Taboca portion snus has 24, one gram portions with each having 9 mg of Nicotine. The portion material that Taboca AS uses in Taboca portion is the same soft material that they use in all their portion snus and is comfortable in the lip for over 2 hours. Taboca’s metal can is blue with the Taboca logo stamped in orange on the top. Unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in Taboca’s can but enough about the can, let’s go to the flavor! Taboca has a pretty unique taste but the scent is pretty special as well! Taboca AS describes Taboca portion as having a tobacco taste with aromas of lemon and fig. While we do taste the fine, hand selected tobaccos in Taboca, there is a salty secondary flavor and a subtle citrus taste in the background that actually provides a bit of sweetness to the snus and balances out the salt. The scent of Taboca portion is the special part. Normally, most Swedish snus has an ammonia smell that is a natural process in the making of it. With Taboca portion, the ammonia smell is replaced with a sweet citrus smell that can only be described as a Tangerine scent! Although there is no Tangerine taste in the snus, the scent is a refreshing change from the norm but, we would like you to decide! I ordered this on a whim and am very pleased. It has excellent flavor and longevity. It sits well in the lip and is priced most affordably. It will be on future orders.

My first Swedish snus. i must say its different than the camel crap we have in the states. But it takes some getting used too. the tobacco drip is rough and not pleasant to swallow, often resulting in a light stomach ache. i dont think ill be buying this snus again, although the tin is awesome

i just got my can of this one today and i must say wow i am impressed
its very smooth tasting with just a hint of lemon the portion material is really soft and they are packed full with tobacco i give this one a 9 out of 10 because it only lasted for about 40 min i will keep one can of this this in every order i really recommend that every one give this one a try

It is a really sweety and low priced snus
. The only problem is its metal can. Since, I store them in the fridge, it is not easy to open a slippy, wet metal can

Indianapolis, Indiana, USA was a test bed for Taboka years ago, and it failed here miserably then. No one knew what it was, it was not marketed as SNUS, so people figured it was just some other kind of dip or pouch tobacco.
I now know that if they'd marketed a decent, top-of-the-line taste like General, Skruf, Roda Lacket, or Hel, even Granit, or loose Ettan, the US might have figured out the whole Snus thing. As it was, it took me until last year to figure out what snus was, and that there ARE good brands out there, (and they from Sweden). This is not one of those good brands. Sorry.

This one isn't setting the world on fire for me. It's good but not great. Kind of generic. It's tobacco-flavored tobacco, and if that's your thing, give this a try.

For a low priced snus, Taboca has to be a favorite of mine. The portions are full and comfortable, and the taste is good. Elements of citrus and bergamot come through instantly, and the flavor is not too overpowering. The tobacco flavor isn't as strong as you would find a Grov or Ettan portion, but good enough for me. It has a long lasting flavor, and the portions can be left in for a descent period of time. The can design is metal and sturdy, does not have an ashtray lid, and does not seal very well, so the portions can tend to get a little dry, but if you go through the portions within a few days, this should not be a problem for you. 8 out of 10 in my opinion, for price and quality.

I wasn’t expecting all that much when I purchased this on sale when it first came out- just a moderately-priced, moderately-good snus. Yet even with these relatively low expectations, I was disappointed. It was rather bland; I’m not quite sure how else to describe it. Its only redeeming feature is the heavy, solid can, which can be reused to hold higher-quality snus.
