Go back Our Northerner Citrus & Menthol, (6mg) ReviewLaunched in 2007 by Snus Bruket / TillCe AB, Oomph Citrus & Menthol 6mg Mini portion snus is classified as a Dry White Mini type. We know this classification can be confusing so, just in case you haven’t read the other Oomph flavor reviews, we’ll break the classification down! First, Dry means that the snus has little to no moisture in it. With Oomph Citrus & Menthol, there’s about 1% moisture which makes the snus its self a powder. Second, the White part means, again, no moisture is added to the material at the end of production and Mini means that the portions themselves are about half the size of a regular sized portion. Even though the material is dry, TillCe uses a soft, teabag type material for their portions which, once you wet it a bit, is surprisingly comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is about an hour and a half. Each can of Oomph Citrus & Menthol 6mg has 24 portions that are about .3 grams each and the Nicotine content in them is 6 mg of Purified Nicotine per portion. Oomph Citrus & Menthol’s can is made of white plastic and is flatter than standard snus cans. There is also two hinged lids in the can, one for new portions and a smaller one for used portions which is another unique thing about Oomph Citrus & Menthol. Ok, now that you have the basics, let’s move on to the flavor! Oomph Citrus & Menthol’s flavor is really not that strong. Don’t get us wrong, you can taste the subtle flavors of the citrus, which is the flavors of lemon and orange, and the light menthol but, the flavors are not overpowering like in a regular portion. The menthol actually comes thru as a very light tang in the snus but is felt by its light burn in the lip. The two together gives a light, fresh flavor in the mouth but what we didn’t taste in Oomph Citrus & Menthol was the tobacco flavor. There is also a slight baking soda taste but, that’s because there’s baking soda in it. It’s there to help keep your teeth white while using it and, it really does whiten them a bit! We feel that Oomph Citrus & Menthol 6mg makes a great snus for the user that wants a light flavor without the typical tobacco flavor that’s in all Swedish snus but, this is what we think, we want to hear your thoughts! Although I still think there has been a slight change in Citrus OOMPH/Northerner, I realize now why it didn't taste so great.
While waiting for my delayed shipment I used an American Snus by Marlboro, which was syrupy sweet.  It took my tastebuds and brain two days to adjust to the delicate flavor of the Citrus Menthol Snus. I'm trying to quit and the Citrus Menthol did a good job of weaning me off of cigarettes. So, I was a bit upset when it didn't taste like I remembered. Snus is like wine, you need a clean palate to truly enjoy the flavor.

Was called Wise, then Oomph, now Northener. We don't care about the name, just go back to the Wise "recipe". It's not awful, but they definitely changed something.

These snus are perfect for newbs or women. You get the nicotine with very little burn, no drip and a slight flavor. I can see how somebody who prefers something with a little body could not like these. However, they definitely have their place among the five brands of snus that I've tried. In fact, I'm going to make sure that I always have a package of these around for those times when I'm trying to convert other smokers to snus (like my wife).

I discovered this brand when I ordered the try-out packs this site offers when I was first getting into snus, hands down this is one of my favorites! Not only is the flavour consistent, the nicotine delivery is too (I was surprised at how strong those portions can give you a kick!) not as strong as a Nick and Johnny, but a couple rungs down that level of nicotine strength. Doesn't work wonders for keeping whitening/breath fresh, but at least you don't get that yellowish grime on your teeth when you spit out your portion. Keep in mind this is a dry portion so make a nice beverage while your snusing to get the most out of it.
I highly recommend this brand to any newcomer to snus because of its flavour, size of portion, nicotine delivery and its healthier purified process. Also, if you're looking for a brand that's similar taste wise, definitely order the 'Northerner energy snus' I find it's the same taste except a little sweeter, and the menthol is substituted with peppermint, plus you get a little caffeine boost.

I like this snus more and more each time I use it. Nice kick and the flavor seems to last about an hour.

Ive waited until ive tried other mini Snus before commenting on this. Good minty flavour which provides a decent enough hit for its size. The most comfortable mini Snus in the mouth and as theres no drip or salty flavour when youre talking its perfect for use when youre out and about although as a new non-smoker its not one id rely on when I was going out for a drink. Perfect for newcomers wanting to stop smoking and one ill always keep in my stock orders.

This was a big surprise!I wouldnt imagine that I could get such a great nic hit from such a tiny pouch.The box says 6mg but honestly for some reason the nic hit is better than the 8mg general.And the taste is fantastic...subtle and refreshing.A must try!

Not a very big fan of this snus, or any of the "Purified Portions" for that matter. The nic hit is like being clubbed over the head. I'm not a lightweight - I can keep a portion of Claq Qui or Skruff Stark in for an hour without a problem, but I get dizzy after like 15 minutes with this stuff. Very strange, especially for only 6mg of nicotine.

This is an odd snus in my opinion. Not a bad snus, just not a good one. Flavor is nearly non-existent. When you do taste it, it is somewhat "soapy" in flavor. On the plus side these little portions truly pack a good nicotine hit regardless of their tiny size and meager 6 mg nicotine rating.

Excellent snus. This snus has a wonderful flavor it starts off mild and gets really bold after a few minutes. This is also one quite strong mini. I get a bigger nic hit off of this than most 8mg regular portions and some strong/starks The citrus and menthol flavor really do play well with one another nethier one overpowers the other one. The one and only bad thing about it is since it is a dry snus it really zaps the moisture out of your mouth quickly.I will be ordering a roll of these next order 5 out of 5 stars given

I got this one with my first try out box and it was one of the first I tried. While I originally liked it, I did did not come back to it. It just does not provide enough satisfaction.
It is however the snus I give to people who want to try snus for the first time. It is the least threatening snus I know of.

I wanted to add, to my previous comments, that I agree with others that the name change was a bad idea. Not only do I like the look of the old Wise label, I think it had a hint of sophistication. Even though nicotine is still addictive I'd like to think that I'm making a wise decision in using purified snus over alternative forms of tobacco. The old label complements a thoughtful decision to use snus (not only in name but in the elegance of the design).
I would also like to add that I appreciate the design of the container. The "ashtray" compartment is excellent! One of the benefits of using portioned snus is that it's public friendly. You don't get smoke everywhere like with cigarettes and you don't need a spittoon. Having an "ashtray" means no smoke, no spittoon, and you don't have to leave used snus pouches around if there is no garbage container available.

I've been using the Wise Citrus/Menthol for over two years now. Camel sent me a test tin of their original SNUS just over 2 years ago. Because it wasn't available until recently in the US I've been trying various snus products from Northerner. Though weak the only SNUS I've come across that I enjoy was the Wise Citrus and Menthol...
I use to always order the 3mg pouches in part because that's all they had until about a year ago. Recently I decided to order/try the Wise, now Oomph, 6mg pouches. They are awful. There is practically no flavor compared to the Wise 3mg pouches. The 3mg pouches weren't potent for long but at least they had flavor. I don't know if it's an ingredient/amount change now that it's oomph or if they simply didn't compensate for the additional tobacco used in the 6mg pouches. I found a new favorite anyway. The Northerner Energy Snus tastes great!!

I wasn't impressed by the taste of this snus. It advertises that it will "always" freshen breath, but I didn't find this to be the case. The flavor is almost non-existant in this snus.
On the plus side, the nic hit is unlike an other snus I've had thusfar. It's fast and to the point, giving a great buzz early on. On the down side, it doesn't last very long. I removed it after maybe half an hour. It was okay, but I won't be buying this snus anytime in the forseeable future.

After reading all these reviews i thought i would give this snus a try and what a dissapointment. There is hardly any flavor not enough nicotine. The packets are covered in a powdery substance.
This is the first snus i have ordered that i have decided to never order again. all that aside when you actually get a little taste of it the flavor is quite good but unless it comes out in a normal full size portion i will not be ordering this snus again.

this stuff is wonderful... I got it in my tryout box i received yesterday, it was a little dried out when i first got it because the lid was cracked when they shipped it but i fixed that problem, i misted a little water on each pouch with a spray bottle, its as good as new now. I also love using it after eating dinner with my girlfriend i just say im going to use the restroom and sneak a pouch in she doesnt notice it at all, it's small and it keeps my breath amazingly fresh..... thankz alot oopmh.. you are truley one of a kind

I got this in a try out box and i must say, it is one of my favorites so far. The portions are small enough that i forget i even have one in my mouth sometimes but it still gives me a solid nicotine kick. The taste is great, subtle yet smooth and delicious. The can is small enough to easily slide in and out of my pocket. I will get this again hands down.

I was a little skeptical about Oomph before I tried this, but I was pleasantly surprised: Oomph tastes pretty good and lasts longer than you'd expect. The citrus/menthol flavor is subtle, and unlike other snus products. Thanks to chewing gum ingredients like xylitol, it is more sweet than salty. The portions are very dry, which means that a) you must wet each portion with your tongue before you place it in your upper lip, b) the portions resist dripping into your mouth, so they can stay up there for a very long time, c) there's no real need to refrigerate them, and d) the portions will not interfere with the flavor of food or drinks very much.
But I do have a few complaints. While the product information says that it is for "medium to heavy smokers" and has "high and fast absorption of nicotine," I did not find this to be the case. The 6mg of nicotine in each portion is slightly lower than the standard 8mg, and if anything the rate of absorption was slightly slower, perhaps due to the dryness of the portions. Also, the texture of the fabric on the portions felt a little papery to me, which I did not care for. Finally, the portions are a little powdery. These last two probably wouldn't bother most people. More superficially, the packaging is very cool and the portions have a much later expiration date than other snus. Overall, I'd recommend it for certain situations where discretion is a plus. For that reason, I'll probably always get a can of these with each order.

This is good stuff. It has a very good subtle flavor and gives a good nic kick for such a small portion. I like that iIdon't even notice that I have one in and it doesn't cause me to salivate a lot. This will be a regular on all my orders.
