Go back Our Skruf Stark, Strong Portion ReviewLaunched in 2005 and made by Skruf AB in Sweden, Skruf Stark portion is classified as a regular type portion which means that each portion goes thru a final step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to each of them. This added moisture helps the flavors in the snus to marry together and release it faster when it’s in the lip. Skruf uses a bit less moisture in the final step due to the moisture level being higher in the snus its self which can leave the material a bit dryer than most regular type portions but, Skruf uses a soft, teabag type material with their portions and is comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is about 2 hours. Each can of Skruf Stark portion contains 24, one gram portions with each having 14 mg of Nicotine. Skruf Stark’s can is made of the signature white plastic with a clear plastic label and yes, there is a used portion compartment in the lid of the can. It’s under the cap with the Skruf logo embossed on it but, enough about the can, let’s talk about the flavor! Skruf describes the flavor of Skruf Stark as having a pure and mild tobacco flavor containing natural aromas from bergamot and rose oil. The most confusing flavor in Skruf Stark is the Rose Oil. While many of you, that have read some of the other reviews, know that bergamot is a flavor that’s a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit, most of you may not know what Rose Oil tastes like. The rose oil gives Skruf Stark a light herbal flavor and actually adds a slight bit of sweetness to the snus. When it’s combined with the mild tobacco and bergamot flavors, they give Skruf a flowery scent and a mild, herbal flavor with a bit of a sweet taste. While this is what we taste, we want to know what you taste in Skruf Stark portion. This has to be my favorite stark portion so far. Before trying this I had really only tried a couple of original portions, so I had myself thinking I preferred white portions, but the extra moisture in these makes the nicotine hit quite a bit faster. The flavor is just pure tobacco with a touch of salt, a lot less of the bergamot/tea flavor I get from other portions. This is the snus I will be using after dinner, and perhaps one in the morning with coffee. For an all-day kind of snus I would suggest the white portions, though.

The flavor is good, the portion size is generous, the buzz is quick-hitting, I just prefer the white portion because it lasts longer 4/5

this is my first ever try of snus. and i admit i love it. i got a great hit after 30 minutes and tbe buzz lasted for hours. cant wait to try more

just ordered this guy and if it tastes like earl grey tea which does contain bergamont i will surely be loving this. I am here in the U.S. and american smokeless tobacco sucks the nic high is horrible its not even enjoyable so will be stocking up with these snuskies!!

This brand is my favorite by far. On occasion I will leave this snus in for up to three hours. The smell burns my nose and a co-worker puked when he tried it. It also packs a nice punch but not too much like the xtra stark. If you like the sweet fruity stuff, you probably wont like this. I have been sunsing for over a month now and this stuff helped my quit smoking in a snap. The spitting is minimal to me and I no longer need to keep a cup of water near.I dont like the "Sweet" of "fruity" stuff this stuff hits the spot every time. 10 cans last me about a month, I used to smoke almost 2 packs a day.

This is a great snus, but wish Skruf would introduce the long narrow porion shape (like found in 02 and Thunder Frosted Long+)
 . Standard Portions are rectangular and/or wedge shaped, and I find myself smushing them up in the lip to make them stay where they're supposed to be - above the teeth. Skruf stark has a nice satisfying kick and flavor; I only wish it fit better.

Its to juicy for me! always need a spit bucket or need to be outside to spit and swallow! Good enough flavour but many minus! 6/10 design of can. 4/10 taste. 1/10 smell.

I think the Skruf stark Portion is better than the Skruf Original portion, but i think the portion is too big and if feel so dry in your mouth. If it was a bit wetter it would taste much better.

I loved the kick, the flavor was good, and the packaging is very attractive. This is definitely NOT a beginner's snus, however, so while people were interested in what I was doing, I was very hesitant to share it for fear I would give people a bad impression regarding snus in general.
As others have said, this snus definitely has a lot more "juice" than others, but that's ok since this isn't really a subtle product for office or social use. When I use it, I keep a spit cup by me as swallowing it will normally make me nauseous. The smell is also quite quite terrible. I'll definitely be throwing a can of this into my normal routine, because flaws aside, it's really quite good.

I have been trying out different types of snus on this website and chose this because of the cool look and high nicotine content. These definitely give a cool buzz when put in upper or even lower lip. They are nice when relaxing at home, but are too bulky to not be noticed when out and about. The smell is nasty(n worse than american dip though), but the taste is not bad at all. It required a bit of spitting which is a bit of a downside, but who cares about that during a good 30 minute buzz?!

Congrats! After much research on the internet, I successfully used Swedish snus to quit smoking two years ago I would NEVER go back. I've got a product that is safe, doesn't make you smelly, and you can do it WHILE you're working! No more lost productivity on smoke breaks. I've tried the US Camel Snus, which is basically a mini portion- it's worthless, period. Only Northerner has the REAL stuff  I also found that, even though I didn't smoke all that much in my opinion, I needed the sterk line rather than regular- the higher nicotine yield makes quitting much, much more comfortable.
Ditto on the nicotine, and in particular the simple, predictable taste. In this sense, I really like General Extra Sterk; however, it’s a close call between that and Skruf Stark, as Skruf Stark has the unique flavor of rose oil. It takes some time to really distinguish the flavors; my advice to anyone trying to quit smoking is simply to find what tastes good/works for you. Northerner offers try out boxes for that matter. After two years, trust me when I say you’ll begin to differentiate between flavors. But it’s not an elite cigar aficionado club, much of it is simple personal preference. Thus, you really can’t go wrong with snus

Nothing negative to say about this snuff. For such a high nicotine content it does not have an overbearing flavor. Just a hint of bergamot and role oil give it a slightly herbal taste just below the surface of premium tobacco. A good all day snus for all you stark lovers.

nice at first when you first pop it in but i find it gets bitter after about 20 minutes and the nic tails off as well...i find myself sucking and squeezing it to get the flavour back but by then its just bitter. overall its not bad but probably wont get it again, i much prefer nick and johnny, more flavour and hits harder, at least to me it does! i seems that i prefer the straight up tobacco snuses, giving the flavoured stuff a miss. if you like the straight tobacco flavour i recommend giving ettan a try, i think its perfect as an everyday snus, and nick and johnny as my preffered strong snus.

Simply the most outstanding snus I have had. I started snusing this Spring, to quit smoking, and have been successful, and love the snus! I have read a TON of reviews and blogs, and after trying dozens of different brands and strengths of snus, I realized that taste preferences are very different from person to person, and that it took me awhile to "develop" my taste, and to decide what was right for me.
When I started I was put off by the more "natural" tasting snuses (General, skruf, etc) and THOUGHT I liked the flavored ones. As time went on i realized I liked a simple, STRONG, predictable taste with DEFINITE nicotine satisfaction. The flavored ones, while interesting, lost their appeal, and were just not strong enough.. (i only smoked a pack a day, and didn't think I would need the strong snuses, but I have found tat I have to have the strong nic level to keep the satisfied feeling.)The winners are: Skruf Stark regular portion-- powerful, easy on the lip (hardly any "pickling") and loooonnnngg lasting (I've had them in for hours, and still produce flavorful, dark juice). General Extra Sterk-- very nice, provides me with some variety, a little sour sometimes, and does "pickle" my lip a bit. Grov-- a great "lighter" snus for when I've over-nic'd myself with the Skruf....a little sweeter, a little milder, and and probably the most unique taste of any I tried. My orders are always something like 50% Skruf Stark, 35% General Xtra sterk, and 15% Grov.

i've got two portions in right now. It's straight up classic flavor. strong tobacco taste, no sweetness, nothing fancy, just straight tobacco - if that's your thing than it's great. if it's not - give it a miss. personally i'm a fan - 4 stars
