Go back Our Thunder Extra Stark, Strong Portion ReviewLaunched in 2009 and made by V2 Tobacco in Silkeborg, Denmark, Thunder Extra Stark Original is classified as an Extra Strong, regular type portion snus. Extra Strong type means that there is over 14 mg of Nicotine in each gram and regular type means that each one goes thru an added step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them. This extra moisture helps the flavors in the snus to marry together and release it faster when it’s in your lip. The material that V2 uses in Thunder Extra Stark Original is the same soft material they use in all their Extra Stark portion snus and is comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is for over 2 hours. Each can contains 24, one gram portions with each one having a mind blowing 16 mg of Nicotine! The can is made of black plastic, both bottom and top, and makes a great seal that doesn’t accidently pop open when in your pocket but you came here to read about the taste not the can so, let’s talk flavors! Thunder Extra Stark Original’s flavor is another unique V2 flavor but not for the reason you may think. As you may know from reading other V2 reviews, V2 is known for its unique and powerfully flavored snus and Thunder Extra Stark Original is pretty unique in the fact that it’s not very powerfully flavored! What we taste is mild tobaccos from all corners of the globe mixed with a bit of salt and a hint of smoke flavor. These flavors combine to give Thunder Extra Stark Original a mild earthy tobacco flavor with a slight burn in the lip that’s common with high Nicotine snus. Tastes similar to SKRUF Xtra Stark which is fine. I thought the taste was going to be like grizzly straight but there is no sweetness at all.
All tobacco flavor with a BAM Nic Hit. Good sby when i run out of Skruf Xtra Stark.

This is realy amnazing snus. I'm a big fan of realy good strong snus, and Thunder extra stark has realy amazing, pure tobacco taste. Not too salt as other brands, and nicotine kick is absolutely headblowing! One of my top 3 brands.

Have done it also a can or so. Quite ordinary, pretty huge nictone kick, but for me there hasn't been kick for a few months so can't actually comment on that.
Can is quite full of humid, or very dry. And for me it didn't last long. I can't stand the taste of liquids, so 25-45 min max. Second-hand or previously dried (a bit) lasts very long.

I've never been a big fan of V2...until now. Thunder has a great, smooth tobacco flavor. The nicotine hit and ramp up is like no other snus I've ever tried. It starts out very slow and then ramps up to a noticeable nicotine level without being overpowering. Every other snus I've ever tried either tapers off or tastes so bad you have to spit it out after about an hour. Not Thunder. It lasts for hours without hindering the nicotine level much or the flavor at all. It is the ONLY snus I can keep in for hours with no problem.

Thunder has a great flavor, better than any other V2 product i have tried, i got a very very slight citris flavor for a few minutes then came the real flavor of this snus.. tobacco with a smokiness that i found staying under my lip for nearly 2 hours.. by that time it started to get a little bitter but i will take 2 hours from a portion any day. V2 has out done themselves on this one and it has made my permanant rotation, just wish V2 would work on the portion materials they are still a little rough on the gums but all around fantastic.

This is surprisingly smooth for this much nicotine. It tastes pretty good. I've had one in for the past hour and it's still got a bit of flavor left. As decent as it is, I still prefer other strong portions like General Extra Sterk and Claq Qui, but I'll probably throw this into the occasional order for a change of pace.

This is by far V2's best product yet (aside from their special editions). The nicotine is subtle yet substantial.
The flavor is slightly sweet and complex. The portion material is improving as well if you've tried their other products. It's slightly wet, but not overly so. This is really a long snus as well. I usually go about an hour. This easily goes twice that with sustained flavor and not too much run. I gave it 4 out of 5. I know I'm being picky, but if the edges of their portions weren't as rigid, I think it would be perfect.

this stuff is fantastic! its got a slightly honey medicinal flavor to it with a huge amount of tobacco flavor! im in love! just ordered sum wintergreen thunder s couple minutes ago.......

This Snus has no quality at all like the Elixyr and Offroad, its not a Swedish Match Product. You even do not feel any nicotine.

Tried this in my last order...I'm not a fan of this stuff, I prefer more of a straight tobacco flavor, and this doesn't seem to be that for me (when compared to say, ETTAN or Probe)
