Go back Our Thunder Frosted Extra Stark, Strong Portion ReviewLaunched in 2009 and made by V2 Tobacco in Silkeborg, Denmark, Thunder Extra Stark Frosted is classified as an Extra Strong, regular type portion snus. Extra Strong type means that there is over 14 mg of Nicotine in each portion and regular type means that each one goes thru an added step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them. This extra moisture helps the flavors in the snus to marry together and release it faster when it’s in your lip. The material that V2 uses in Thunder Extra Stark Frosted is the same soft material they use in all their portion snus and is comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is for over 2 hours. Each can contains 24, one gram portions with each one having a staggering 16 mg of Nicotine! Thunder Extra Stark Frosted portion’s can is made of black plastic and V2 did add a used portion compartment in the lid of Thunder Frosted but, enough about the can; you’re here for the flavor! As with most of V2’s snus flavors, they tend to be boldly flavored and geared towards being very unique. Thunder Extra Stark Frosted is the embodiment of both. Thunder Frosted’s flavor is a cross between peppermint and wintergreen with peppermint’s cool, icy taste and wintergreen’s minty sweetness. The thing we liken the flavor to is an Arctic Mint gum. There is the burn in the lip that’s common with mint flavored snus as well as a slight burn in the back of the throat from the higher amount of Nicotine. I just received a shipment of snus and I decided to order this. Im happy I did, the aroma is very strong, before I even lifted the cap I could smell it just by breaking the seal, and it smelled fantastic. I love spearmint, if you do not...dont order! I use Camel Frost when I have no Sweedish Snus left and I believe this is comparable to it. The flavor lasts as well! I'm not too addicted to nicotine so it was a little strong for me
Nicotine Hit: 5/5 (too strong for me!) Aroma: 5/5 Flavor 4.5/5 (rating 5 would be a little too generous) One drawback would be the nic hit, its just too strong for me.

I used snus to quit smoking close to 3 years ago now. I've tried a lot of brands, but never anything I thought looked "cheap" and nothing flavored that's for sure- mainly strong portions from General or Skruf as I like the salty taste.
However after about 2.5 yrs after quitting smoking/starting snus'ing I did begin to get tired of all the General and Stark stuff even the Claq Qui, etc. So on my last order I purchased 3 cans of this as well as 3 can "tests" of some others and a roll of Claq. I WISH I HAD BOUGHT A ROLL OF THIS!!! I looked forward to it every morning, it was my "morning snus" with a great taste and great nicotine. Even though I tried not to run through it, it seemingly vanished  ... yet I have cans from some of my other 3 can tests  Although, I will say that at least I learned I like loose snus, although not very good at it, and the '02 was a good snus as well.
My next order will look a lot different and will certainly include this!

Hmm..I wanted to like this more than I ended up.
First of all, you can tell that Thunder is not a Triple-A snus manufacturer by the packaging and the snus itself. The smell and flavor reminded me so much of those Porta-A-Potties you see at State Fairs with that blue liquid smell mixed with the light odor of peoples excrement. It doesn't taste like (poop) obviously, but the smell just reminds me so much of that. The Nic hit is okay...flavor is OK. One thing this snus gets a A+ rating on is its ability to stay moist. None of my other snuses stay moist like this does. Overall: 6/10 twitter.com/f1nalboss

I just got my Order in to day and when I open the ups bag all I smelled was the spearment it was really nice & the snus nice burn but cool has to be one of the best snus I had glad I bought 10 cans I will order more of this be fore June . If u have not tried this give it a try I rate 5/5

I just received my package containing all different brands of snus and this is the first one I tried. I usually dip Copenhagen long cut but switched to snus because my lip is getting torn up. They look small compared to American pouches but they satisfy. They have a lot of nicotine for such a small pouch. I have had Camel snus which I couldn't stand to swallow, but these are a lot easier on the throat. I am glad to have ordered these and I might make these a regular when I order next time!  I also found the frost minis to be more practical for concealment as apposed to the greater portion frost snus. The first five minutes of putting that snus under your lip and getting that nicotine infusion is absolute bliss.

As soon as you open a tin, the familiar aroma of spearmint hits yout nose...and this snus delivers. Don't let the high nicotine content fool you, the nicotine comes on smooth and in my experience, can last up to two hours. The flavor doesn't vanish either!
A really great snus, but it does have some downsides: The portions are a little bigger than average, so if concealment is a priority for you, then the Thunder Frosted Minis are a good option. But if you love spearmint and a two hour constant stream of nicotine bliss sounds good, then throw a couple cans of Thunder Frosted in your next order, you won't be dissapointed.

Wow talking about waking you up. Gives you that slow nice burn for while. I can't see this as my daily and still maintain an upper lip. Enjoyable change, going in the rotation. This is a great bar snus following a few beers.

I am very happy with this one!! It has a very nice cool burn and nic hit that absolutely fills the need. I went from smoking a little over a pack a day to one or 2 cigs a day using this product. I will completely quit smoking using snus, finally!! lol.

I have been a smoker/chewer for years, my company has recently passed a new policy banning smoking and chewing (damn!!). Starting off with Camel's snus I decided to investigate and buy some authentic Swedish Snus. I bought a whole roll of this based on reviews and I am so very happy I did, excellent burn I used to chew Grizzly and Kodiak for. Not only is this as tasty as my old chew but I don't even have the urge to smoke any longer ( so I haven't!! Wow!!). This is a great snus and I will continue to buy this brand. Strong snus is a godsend for those who want to quit smoking but would like to still get that fantastic nic hit!!

I've been using snus for about 2 years. I smoked for over 35 years. I've tried everything on the market to quit! Thanks to strong snus I'm now smoke free! Snus works well for me to curb my want of a smoke, My problem was finding a good strong snus I actually liked the taste of that delivers the nicotine I want. I've always favored the plain tobacco snus (namely Skruf). I have been wanting a good flavored snus to add to my rotation and Thunder frost is it! Good clean burning mint with a great nicotine level for us ex-smokers. I just wish there was more consistency from portion to portion. I find some are much fuller than others. Otherwise a great product! I would recommend it to my friends who want to lay the cigarettes aside for a healthier way to enjoy tobacco. Not for a first time snuser who doesn't smoke.

After quittings cigs a year ago with snus. I finally gave in and ordered some of this.
I found the smell coming from the unopened can as nasty as the flavor of the portions inside. And people find Wintergreen nasty and only for people that dip? 
From this ex-smokers perspective, General Wintergreen is hands down a better tasting snus. Spearmint is just

Amazing, big spearmint flavour. I love spearmint so this get 5 stars.
It may be a disappointment to some though, as you can barely taste the tobacco, but you know it's there from the huge nicotine kick.

I am new to snusing .This one taste great and it has a kick to it. I ordered the top 10 pack and tried out every one of them. Thunder was great, it smells good, and has a great after taste. But it is strong. It produced a wonderful nic hit. I have not smoked since my package arrived last week.

I'm a newcomer to Snus and recently ordered a try it pack. I've definately found that you do need to try brands several times before making a judgment.
This one is my current favourite. No spitting needed, no salty taste leaking into the mouth just the fresh taste and burn with the tobacco taste at the back of the throat. I would recommend this to newcomers and especially people stopping smoking. Im hoping this one is available in a mini portion for when im out and about so I dont look like I have a gumshield in.

This snus is absolutely addictive. I only bought one tin just to try it out and see what all the hype was about. After 1 portion I was kicking myself for not ordering more. I am usually not a flavored snus type of guy but this is light, cool, and delicious. Flavor does not cover up the tobacco taste at all. Can't wait for my next order to arrive. A+
