Go back Our 02 Original Strong Portion ReviewA completely new and innovative snus brand released by Swedish Match in October 2009 and made in Gothenburg, Sweden, 02 Strong portion snus is classified as a Regular type portion snus. As you remember from our other reviews, Regular type portions go thru an additional step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to each. This additional moisture helps the flavors meld together and bring them out faster when in the lip. 02 Strong is also made from a new snus formula that is basically run free! The portion material Swedish Match uses for 02 Strong is the same soft, teabag type material they use in all their snus and is comfortable in the lip for over 2 hours. What adds to the comfort is an innovative new portion shape that’s a bit longer than the standard portion and a bit thinner as well. This longer, thinner shape helps to keep the portion in place better and is actually more discreet. Each can of 02 Strong portion snus has 24, one gram portions with each having 13 mg of Nicotine. 02 Strong’s can is a basic, silver colored, plastic can with a clear plastic label that seals the lid to the bottom until you open it. Swedish Match also simplified the label and added 5 different icons that explain weight, portion size, strength, drip rate and flavor which is basically a new feature in the snus world! There is a used portion compartment in the lid, under the red “02” but, you’re also here for the flavor of this brand new snus brand so, let’s take a look. Swedish Match created 02 Strong in the same fashion they created it’s sibling 01 Original as a snus designed by the snus world, for the snus world. They accomplished this by taking all the suggestions they received from their test panel and created a brand around it. The flavor of 02 Strong is the same as 01 Original which is a fresh tobacco taste with nothing else. What we taste are the light flavors of the high quality tobaccos, hand selected from all corners of the globe along with a bit of salt and a hint of pepper but, we associate this to the higher Nicotine content. We can say this because the peppery hints are not in 01 Original. What we mean by light is that the overall flavor of 02 Strong is of pure tobacco but the flavor is not as prominent as most regular type portions due to the lack of juice from the “No Drip” formula. We think that 02 Strong portion snus would be great for the beginning strong snus user due to the light taste and low juice factor as well as an everyday snus for the experienced strong snus user for the same reason but, we want to know what you think! Chewed the gum for years, got loose fillings and indigestion. Tried Camel Snus, the day after it was featured on 60 min and thought it was the answer to my prayers. Ordered a bunch of Snus from Northern to try vaieties. Took me a week to adjust to the saltiness of most. Then 02 slowly became a Snus staple. Still enjoy a Camel or Discreet for dessert, but 02 is ALWAYS with me, love the General stuff too. I'm not sure what a "nic kick" feels like, but I know the desire to smoke is gone...finally! Never thought I could enjoy tobacco and breathe well at the same time!

[FONT=Verdana]Adding to similar comments from other postings, this SNUS has a good nic hit, fits well, comfortable pouch material. But lacks the bolder flavor that I look for from other brands like Grovsnus and General Onyx.

As a new snuser, I've tried about 15 different kinds of snus (including lös, strong, white and mini portions) in the past couple of months and narrowed my preferences. I've learned that I like stronger snuses, I'm not much of a connosseur when it comes to flavors, I dislike drip, and I prefer reasonably discreet portions and prillas. 02 Original Strong Portion is in my top two because it has the kick I want when I want it and the portions are longer and narrower than standard strong portions so they fit better in the lip. They're almost unnoticeable unless I need to talk a lot, and there is no drip for over 45 minutes (if it drips, it comes out!). I use Thunder Extreme Frosted Minis most of the time because they're potent and tasty enough to keep me enjoying my day (without being noticed), but 02 gives me that extra jolt I crave from time to time. Reliably pleasureable snus!

I love the shape of this snus. Has a nice nic kick as well. Taste is light at first but gets there. Dry for my tastes but I like it.

The taste is good, but it is too dry. It feels just like camel snus(the US flavored junk) but not the taste just the dryness. I was disappointed. I will try the 01, I went for the 02 becuase it has more nicotine but it made no difference I had to practically spit on it to get it going.

Ive been snusing on and off for about 2 years now, and 02 is by far the best, if there is anything else that compares to 02 it is skruf, other than that, maybe catch, but catch is a bit weak. Too bad i cant order from here since they dont deliver to my country. (norway) in norway it is 80kr for 1 box, while in sweden it is 25. so that kinda sucks.

This is by far my favorite selection of the twenty or so cans I ordered as a sampler (General, Skruf, Goteborg's, and many flavor variation of these). Being very new to Snus I had first only used the American Camel's Frost while waiting for my actual "authentic" orders to arrive here in the United States. Being my intention to quit smoking it was essential that the optimal Snus provide adequate nicotine levels. At first I found that my palate was not very used to the saltier character of Swedish Snus having gotten fairly used to the *overly* minty and sweet Camel Frost product. After a few days however I came to greatly prefer the real and proper Swedish varieties. Just having tried the Swedish Match 02 I must say that for me it the absolute best in terms of overall character being both long lasting and quite soothing in its taste. It would seem to me that Swedish Match 02 is reduced in its salt content and therefore I have noticed does less damage to my gums (less altered sensation in my mouth and gums after removing the portion). Also it provides, for me, the perfect nicotine levels which actually lasts for hours even after finishing the portion. I believe this product's triumph belongs to the shere amount of developement, testing, research, and surveys they must of done to arrive at the best formula and portion dimensions. I would highly recommend this Snus to anyone looking for the highest quality and specific changes made to improve the quality of the experience. This will be my favorite order!!!

I found this to be a decent snus, and a nice change of pace from my regular brands. The word that keeps coming to mind when trying to pin down the overall experience is "mellow," as everything from the taste to the nicotine level was more subtle than most strong snus, and tended to blend into the background of whatever I was doing. I liked it, but can't see myself using this as a go-to tin.

This one reminds me of Ettan, only not as strong of a flavor and a higher nicotine content, plus less juice. The portion shape fits nicely. This is decent snus.

I tried this one this week for the first time and i was a bit dissapointed. It didn't have the full taste i was looking for. There is a soapy taste to it when you are about done with it. I like the size though.
