Go back Our Röda Lacket, White Portion ReviewLaunched in 2006, Röda Lacket portion snus is another White portion snus manufactured by the folks at Swedish Match, makers of the General brand of snus, among others! Röda Lacket is classified as a White type portion meaning that it does not go thru the additional step to add moisture prior to being packaged. Even though Röda Lacket has a bit less moisture than a regular type portion, the kind of portion material that Swedish Match uses to make it is soft and quite comfortable under the lip. Even after 2 hours of use, there is virtually no discomfort! Each can of Röda Lacket portion has 24, one gram portions and each portion contains 8 mg of Nicotine. Röda Lacket portion’s can is made of plastic and has the used portion compartment in the lid but the label, its history actually, is the unique thing! When Röda Lacket was introduced in 2006, Swedish Match released it with 21 different top labels! Although they don’t do that anymore, the final can edition, released in 2008, has a plasticized, multi-colored label around the side of the can that provides a good seal and the label on the lid matches the one around the can side. Ok, enough about the can. On to the flavor! Röda Lacket’s flavor is actually pretty complex. While Swedish match has described its flavor to be of light tobacco and a hint of licorice. While there is a light tobacco flavor, the licorice flavor is what makes it complex! Some have tasted a slightly sweet licorice flavor; others have tasted lightly sweet, red berries like Strawberries. In either case, these flavors along with the slight saltiness are what give Röda Lacket White Portion snus its complexity. That and the fact that the flavor of a portion lasts for over an hour and a half! So why not give a can of Röda Lacket White portion a try and see what flavors you can detect! After about a year of snusing and trying dozens of different brands, I have finally settled on Roda Lacket as my go-to brand. A unique (and appropriate) sour apple taste with the just right amount of nicotine. 5 well-deserved stars.

Probably the only 'white' that can compete regular snus.
Its starts with a floral note and after a while it starts tasting like cigar tobacco.Just delicious.

I have stopped smoking from General Mint, and I have not tried any others until based on reviews I bought Roda Lacket.
At first It tastes very salty, even sort of unpleasant. It is quite mild, and the fruity undertones come out but they are far from enough to mask the strong salty taste. Not too happy

I love this snus so much that it has spoiled almost all the other brands for me. The 'pure tobacco' snuses seem in comparison to have a slight chemical taste. The flavored ones have a cloying or artificial character. Only the Cuban snuses could compete, and I'm no longer allowed to use them!

I have had this one around for awhile, periodically getting a portion out, but have since found this particular one my favorite, with General Onyx nearby.

I like this snus. No fuss...just plain tobacco...a bit of salt. It reminds me of Grov but perhaps a bit milder. This would be a regular go - to snus for me. Quit smoking 7 days ago...ordered several varieties. I haven't forgotten about cigarettes, however, after 25 years of smoking this stuff really has been a HUGE crutch.

beautiful can -- it reminds me of Rape' no.2 and i have the same problem with it -- the fruity flavor is great at first, but it puts me off after about half the can and i find myself opening a different can and slowly polishing it off.

I did not care for this snus. It has a strong flavor of anise so if your not a big fan of traditional licorice I would avoid this one.

its ok it lives a bitter taste and a after taste that i cant really enplane i give the can design a 10 the snus in it i give a 2.and that's my option.

I love this product's flavor, not over bearing, just nice and clean. To me it smells and tastes similar to Rape and Rape No. 2, but of course it is missing the juniper. I will keep this in my rotation. For those who have not yet, I think it is worth trying out.

Again, one of my favorites...but don't order it expecting it to taste like candy. It's a snus, and has the typical snus flavor with pleasant undertones of fruit. Excellent.

Love this product. RL has a great smell, is very easy on the gums, and has a great unique flavor. The smell is like good pipe tobacco.
Like many other American snusers, I started on Camel frost & mellow.... i thought I liked those strong sweet flavors, so I ordered the brands that were described as being "fruity". I was initially very disappointed, because the fruit flavors were SO subtle. However, after working my way into the various cans I ordered, I am LOVING THEM! I tried the Camel stuff again, and find it disgustingly sweet, with not enough tobacco flavor or nicotine kick! For other beginners, the "original" portion (not white) products like Jakobson's Ice fruit have a nice kick, tobacco flavor, and "hint" of fruitiness (which is what I discovered I really wanted all along, not a strong fruitiness). Some of the whites: Roda Lacket, Goteborg's Rape #2, are also very nice, a little milder in flavor. I also love Gotland Green! The ONLY products I'm disappointed by are the flavored Offroads and Thunders... they just don't taste natural enough. As a quitting smoker, I'm finding i need more nicotine, so I have a shipment of various "strongs" on the way...But-- Roda Lacket, Goteborgs Rape #2, Jakobson's Ice Fruit, and Gotland Green will always be in my orders, and will always be around me: they are all so good that I couldn't imagine not being able to grab one at any time during the day.

I ordered this stuff with high hopes but I'm kinda let down by the flavor. It's not terrible but I really expected more taste. I can't keep it in very long before I'm sick of it. I'll finish the tin but probably won't order it again...

I like to keep a roll of Claq Qui in my refrigerator, so I'm definitely all about the flavor. But even after trying Claq Qui first, I will still be ordering Roda. Because sometimes, I just want to snus for the flavor, not the nicotine hit. Plus it's less salty, making it better for my morning coffee.
