Frankish Rush Goblet
AD 600, The Frankish Empire, Europe
Replica of glass dated back to the Frankish Empire. The Frankish Empire (approx. AD 500-843): large European empire (during the Medieval Period, AD 500-1500) ruled by kings like Carl the Great, included at its peak; France, Holland, Belgium, west Germany, Switzerland, north Italy, Austria, north Yugoslavia, etc. This is a glas without fot. It has a roundshaped bottom (some other glasses had a point-shaped bottom) and was consequently not intended for putting away. Thatīs why itīs called "rush cup" - please drink it up and make it go quickly. Brown-green-colored glass.
This glass is produced by hand with the same techniques they used for almost 1400 years ago, which means that the size and thickness of the glasses may vary slightly. The color of the glass may also vary as well as the number of small bubbles inside the glass. The glassworks, which make the History Glasses, is one of the best of its kind in the world. It has customers with high reputation such as a number of different Museums.
