Prunted Goblet
Colored Glass Threads (Iron Age, AD 300, Sweden)
Name in Swedish: "Badelundsbagaren", Replica of drinking glass with zick-zack shaped colored glass-thread decor which has been found in many different variants in Vasterås. It is dated to AD 300 and its origin was most likely from the Frankish Empire in Central Europe. The Iron Age: period between the Bronze Age and the Medieval Period when iron was used as tools or weapon; different time periods in different cultures, Central Europe BC 800 - AD 500, in Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Denmark) BC 500 - AD 1050. Most glasses were imported to Sweden as late as up to the 18th century when the first organized production started. This glass is produced by hand with the same techniques they used for 1700 years ago, which means that the size and thickness of the glasses may vary slightly. The color of the glass may also vary as well as the number of small bubbles inside the glass. The glassworks, which make the History Glasses, is one of the best of its kind in the world.
