This mug originates probably from a Danish glassworks and its design, techics and material shows itīs Danish Renaissance.
An almost identical glass has been found in northern Bohemia (todays Czeck Republic). Itīs estimated to be typical Bohemian from the 16th century. Medieval Period in Central Europe was approximately between AD 500-1500 and in Scandinavia AD 1050-1500. One explanation to why it differ greatly could be that the glassblowers moved around alot and took jobs where the best conditions were offered. Besides that the glassworks was, as it is today, very quickly to copy eachothers design. Itīs a fact that you can find that glasses were produced with almost identical design throughout Europe; Venice, Holland, Sweden, Bohemia., etc. This glass has been blown with traditional methods influenced by the original glass at the History Museum in Aalborg, Denmark.
