Go back Our Odens Extra Stark Licorice, Strong Portion ReviewIntroduced to the snus world as “The Strongest Snus in the world” in 2009 by Gajane AB, Oden’s Extra Stark Licorice is classified as an Extra Strong, regular type portion which, as you may remember, means that the snus has a Nicotine content that’s over 14 mg per portion and each portion goes thru an additional step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them which aids the flavors in marrying together and releasing it faster when it’s in your lip. The material that Gajane uses in Oden’s licorice is the same soft, teabag type material that they use in all their portions and is comfortable in the lip for about an hour and a half. Each can of Oden’s Extra Stark Licorice contains 24, one gram portions with each having 17 mg of Nicotine. The can its self is made of black plastic with a plasticized paper and foil label with the Oden’s logo embossed in the lid. Unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in the embossed lid but, you’re here for the flavor, not the can so, let’s take a look! Oden’s Extra Stark Licorice has the same flavor as its lower Nicotine siblings just, a bit stronger. The same black licorice taste is the main player but while licorice flavors, in general, tend to be strong, almost to the point of being overpowering, Oden’s Extra Stark Licorice’s flavor is not. While the flavor is predominant, as the portion is in the lip for a bit (about 45 minutes), the flavor mellows out and a light tobacco flavor mixes in with the salt giving Oden’s Extra Stark Licorice another dimension. There is light burn in the back of the throat but, this is due to the higher Nicotine and is pretty tolerable. Overall, we think that Oden’s Extra Stark Licorice portion snus would be great for the snus user that wants to experience the feeling of the “World’s strongest snus” with a Licorice twist. Powerfull og really, really nice taste - from start til end. Never turns dull and bitter! Moist and delicious. Makes your lip buzz like Jakobssons. I really enjoy this wonderfull snus!

I used to get the METROPOL white portion licorice snus years ago. This snus is a great replacement. Plenty of nicotine, a nicely fitting pouch and a great flavour. I would recommend this snus to anyone that likes a good hit, day or night. The extra nicotine makes them as good as a loose snus hit.

i must be snussing too much lately. i had ordered the oden's licorice CLASSIC and with the new warning labels on imported snus (to america) i didn't see that northerner had mistakenly sent me EXTRA STARK! a welcome suprise, but i had a few portions before discovering this happy accident and didn't really notice the potency. i'll have to try another portion later with the strength in mind
oh and this stuff smells and tastes great. even if you dont really like black licorice, give this one a try. it's really a great flavor for tobacco. i'd give it a solid 4 kicks-in-the-rear out of 5!

I love this stuff. I wasnt sure how the licorice flavor would be since I'm not a huge fan of it in anything else, but from the first try I was hooked. My only regret was only ordering 3 cans the first time. Great nic and taste. I will admit sometimes it seems a pouch wont last as long as others, but even then it's around 45-60 mins. This happens rarely. If you havent tried this you should. Even if you dont prefer licorice in other things, its amazing what its like when its combined with tobacco.

Good balance of flavors. Licorice flavor is not overpowering. Lasts a long time.

I may have reviewed this before but now the flavor has gotten to be so disappointing. I got a whole roll thinking that it would be like LD Black but stronger. It is clearly a low priced SNUS with a lot of artificial flavor added. I thought it would last a long time but I'm spitting it out after about 45 minutes. I dont know maybe my taste buds are fried since I've been snusing for two months and spend my waking hours with one of a dozen different flavors in.

Haven't had a cigarette in over a month. After a month of trying a dozen or so brands and flavors, I landed on Oden's Liquorice Extra Stark. This is the one that I certainly looked forward to the most and have ordered a full 10 of it.
This will be my go to snus. Will always keep the Gotesburg Rape by my side when I snus more than usual so I don't get sick on nicotine.
Finland needs to get with the program. Being a U.S. citizen with Fin ancestory, I know what they are missing.

I've tried 90% of the snus available here. I ordered the Licorice on a whim. Wow. It has been the only snus I've used since. Everything else tastes like sawdust. Everything else will have you chain-snusing. Sometimes I gotta spit this one out and sober up.

I started using snus about 6 months ago, to help me quit smoking. I tried several different brands and flavors. None compare to the Odens Extra Stark, Licorice Portion. Once I tried it, I was hooked.
I started with the Catch White Portion, Licorice and I liked it, but found that it wasn't strong enough and didn't give me that "bite" that Oden's did. I also found the Oden's was more moist, which I prefer. If you like a moist, extra stark snus and you are fond of that wonderful licorice flavor, you can't beat the Oden's Extra Stark Licorice Portion.

I thought licorice was a weird flavor for a snus, but I am curious by nature and had to get me some. A wise choice indeed. The licorice flavor works perfectly, and now I have to buy one of each licorice flavor available and choose a fave. It'll be tough to top this one, though. The flavor lasts a good, long while, too. If you haven't tried a licorice snus before, start with this one.

This is the "stuff" like it says on your t-shirt. I am an American heavy smoker who is tapering to snus. As I used to look forward to my cigarette, I am now looking forward to having that wonderful gritty bag in my gums. In 10 days of snussing, I have just gone through 2 packs. 4 a day vs. 40! I smoke those first three in the morning and try a fourth and begin to retch... I always did and just continued to smoke regardless as I am pretty well hooked to nicotine, I must admit. It has become a relief to brush my teeth and go to my fridge and choose a snus. I go the sampler and also ordered rolls of all of the strong Odens. I enjoy them all, but the Licorice is just a mind blower. Who would have thought that a strong tobacco flavor mingled with licorice would be so satisfying? I really do not care for the candy version, but in this snus, it is a wonderful thing. I usually start the day with a strong tobacco snus, Odens or Stark, but then in the afternoon or evening, I usually have one or two of these. Great lift-off and long lasting. Perfect for a treat or after a meal. Thanks, Odens and Northerner!

i love this kinda of snus, is good for an afterdinner dessert, it smell like licorice and it's taste is pretty deep but not quite persistant as i hoped.

The portion itself is PLUMP! It is unique in that Oden's portion is wide. The flavor- licorice is real. If you are looking for a kick this is a powerful snus.
I see some reviewers are talking about this is a snus for a Viking. Well, over here in Montana USA, this snus makes me want to Cowboy up. Shoot, loot, and ride.

If licorice is your thing - you've found a good accessory. I find the flavor to be very pleasant and strong - but it looses that pleasant licorice taste sooner than I'd like.

When I first tried Oden's I was entirely unprepared for the experience. This is clearly a Snus intended for Vikings, and after trying a portion I was filled with the urge to
a. Rape and b. Pillage I don't have the temperament for sex crimes and my small town has limited pillaging opportunities, so I unenthusiastically humped a telephone pole and stole a Fresca from a local convenience store. The cashier apparently witnessed my theft, and called the local police. A policeman arrived and asked me just what exactly I was doing. I introduced myself as Hrothgar, Scourge of the Wastes, and headbutted him in the chest. I have limited recollection of what followed, but I believe he called for backup and beat me mercilessly with his nightstick for several hours. I awoke beside the deer carcass the next morning.
