Go back Our Lucky Strike, Portion ReviewLucky Strike original portion snus is another snus made by the folks at Fiedler and Lundgren and released in 2006. Lucky Strike Original is classified as a regular type portion which means that each portion goes thru the additional step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to the snus which helps the flavors meld together and come out quicker in the lip. The material that Fiedler and Lundgren uses for Lucky Strike Original is the same soft material that they use in all their portion snus which is comfortable in the lip for over 1 ½ hours. Each can has 24, one gram portions with each one having 8 mg of Nicotine. Lucky Strike Original’s can is a unique combination of a plastic bottom with a lid that has a rubberized metal outer skin around a plastic inner shell that makes a great seal, helping to keep the portion fresher, longer. The other cool thing is that the used portion compartment is on the bottom of the can! So, what does Lucky Strike portion taste? Let’s discuss that now. Lucky Strike Original portion’s flavor is pretty unique in the fact that it combines the flavor of toasted tobacco, which gives the snus a light smoky taste while mellowing out the flavor of the tobacco and adds a subtle sweetness, with a hint of bergamot (a lemon/grapefruit type of flavor) and salt. There is also a slight black peppery flavor in the background that adds another dimension to the overall flavor of Lucky Strike Original portion snus but, we’ll let you decide. I bought a can of this and two of the LS strong portion in my monthly order. Its my new favourite and im getting more of a hit from this than the stronger stuff. Seems to have a bolder flavour. The can is second only to that of the Romeo. The flavour lasts plenty, kind of a smoky flavour comes through but none of the artificial scents of many. No drip noticed either. Looking forward to my next order already which will stacked with this.

I haven't been using snus for to long and have only tried a couple of brands. Lucky Strike is easily the best i have used. It has a strong, long lasting flavour and doesn't drip nearly as much as General. I'll be sticking with Lucky Strike from now on. Plus the tin is awesome.

grrr. not available in the US anymore? bought 10 cans 2 months ago and running low. i see they also raised the price 50 cents. this was an amazing deal. value and flavor. nothing special, but that's exactly what i was looking for.

somehow i got a can in the US, and i consider myself lucky. this snus is fantastic - the flavor is amazing, and the can is wondeful. it is the best of the best - 5 stars

they changed the tin. the top is steel lined with plastic on the inside, and a soft finish on the outside. it now has an "ashtray" lid on the plastic bottom. pretty nice. the snus is pretty good as well. kinda smoky. not my number one, but i'll get a couple more tins on the next order.

This is the only snus other than General Portion I can see myself using on a regular basis. Nice balance of strength and taste, satisfying and the great retro looking can keeps it lovely and fresh. Highly recommended. Oh yeah, and it's fantastic with coffee too.

Good snus that is even better because of its price. It would be 4 stars but the price got me to bump it to 5 stars. Nice unique can also.

Just popped my first portion of Lucky Strike Original. I must say that I am very impressed with the tobacco flavour, it is in no way a bad experience, and the tin is super to boot.

Good straight forward snus with a nice nutty flavour. The tin is top class, I often wonder how many are filled with soil and used as hockey pucks!

Finished my first can. It very nice indeed.
The sealed can keeps everything fresh , the taste and smell are awesome and it goes really well with an energy drink in the morning. Top notch stuff!

I really want to like Lucky Strike, but I think I'm spoiled by the other brands out there. Here's my thoughts:
Taste - It tastes like tobacco. There's nothing very pronounced about the flavor and I found it a bit bland. It isn't bad, but there's nothing special about it. Nicotine - The effects are comparable with the other regular portions I've tried. The onset is slow, builds up and tapers off a bit faster than stark portions, which is to be expected. Mouth Feel - Like other original portions it feels comfortable and does not irritate the gums. There is little drip. The Verdict - The only thing unique about this snus is the packaging, which looks great, but I wish the lid had a tighter fit. It's the only snus I've had with a freshness seal. I probably won't order this again. It's not a bad snus, and is cheap, but I like other brands better. I rate this a 3 out of 5.

I like this one. Very tasty, and the tin is superb. I often throw this one in with a mixed order because it's always a solid performer with a consistently high quality.

I just got my first order from northerner, 14 different cans, I'll review them all as I try them.
I wasn't sure what to expect, having only had Camel snus. First up, like everyone else, I love the can. Upon opening, I took a big whiff to get an idea of what it would taste like. Ugh! I thought I made a mistake in ordering this until I tried it. The flavor is much milder than the overpowering smell, which probably only means it's fresh. Next thing I noticed was swedish snus has more nicotine than Camel's overly sweet snus. The portion size is larger than I was used to, not too large, just bigger. 24 portions as opposed to Camel's 15. Overall, I like it. Seems it was a good choice for a first real snus. Can 5/5, Snus 4/5, Good value.

While I do think the can is a 5/5, and I am aware of its popularity, this is the only snus that I cringe at. Absolutely bleh. To get a good idea of what this tastes like, dilute liquid smoke and salt in a shot glass and try that. But, hey, people love it, what can I say? Except that people are wrong. Very, very wrong. Yuck.

I purchased this mainly for the brand name, but I ended up loving it. There's a very nice tobacco flavor with a hint of leather, from what I can taste. Interesting flavor, but I love it.

Ok basic tobacco flavoring, with a subtle twist I cannot put my finger on. Full, juicy portions. Great packaging.

I am using snus about 1 month. I am quiting a smoking a sigaret. Lucky strike is so far the best. The flavor is smooth and good. I used a portsion about an hour and it did´nt loose a flavor and nicotin. A+

Love the can! Tastes great. This is by far my favorite so far. Nice subtle tobacco flavour...not too weak not too strong. And the freshness out of the can is second to none.

As said before, awesome packaging, a great full flavor, and relatively long lasting. I will say that I find a great hint of citrus on the bottom of the taste, which seems to find itself about ten minutes in. A go to snus!

This was a snus that I thought I would like and I wanted to like. It's Lucky Strikes ... brings on memories of yesteryear when their cigarette commercials played during radio programs and the like. And the tin looks and feels great compared to the plastic versions every other brand uses. The tin is lacking the "ashtray" in the lid but it makes up for it in overall style points.
But, I was not very impressed in the end with the taste of this snus. I enjoy a strong tobacco flavour and I found this to be lacking. The taste was a bit thin for me. It certainly wasn't unpleasant but it didn't have a taste that stands out. I may buy this again when I want a break from stronger flavoured snus. On the other hand, if you are looking for a mild, classic tobacco flavour, without the addition of other flavourings like citrus, etc... I would recommend trying this one.

This is my absolute fav. Nothing better than starting the morning with a piping hot cup of black coffee and a Lucky! Great long lasting flavor. Love the portion texture and yes, the can is sweet. I love when ppl spot my tin, and say "Lucky in a can?" I definately recommend, especially for former dippers like myself.

a very nice snus i did find the flavour a litle weak i was hoping for a stronger luckies taste so i was abit let down in that department but it has its own unique quirky taste which is nice
for me the sealed air tight tin was a nice touch it was SUPER fresh inside and with it being a full metal tin with a plastic liner you can use tin long after its empty i stripped the logo off and buffed it up to a polished steel look so it looks quite swish when your out and about its just a shame there is no compartment for your used snus when your out Om een opmerking te geven,klik op de drukknop |
