Our CatchDry Eucalyptus, White Mini Portion Review

Launched in 2000 and made by Swedish Match AB in Göteborg, Sweden, CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini portion snus is classified as a Dry White Mini type portion. White type portions are basically portions that do not go thru the added step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them which leaves the material dry. The Mini type tells you that the portion is roughly half the size of a regular type and the Dry type means that the snus inside has less moisture than a standard White type. While the material is a bit dryer than a regular type, Swedish Match uses the same soft material they use in most of their portion snus and is pretty comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is around an hour and a half. Each can of CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini contains 20 portions that have .3 grams of snus each and 4 mg of Nicotine per portion. CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini’s can is made of grey plastic with a paper/foil label that gives the can a modern, classy look and yes, there is a used portion compartment in the lid but, enough about the can, on to the flavor! CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini’s flavor is unique but unknown to some Americans, especially those who have never tasted Eucalyptus. So, we’ll do our best to describe what CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini tastes like. While most people think of medicines or cough drops when they hear Eucalyptus, this is not the case here. CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini has the same flavor as its full sized White sibling Catch White Eucalyptus which is a minty flavor that is a cross between Wintergreen and Peppermint with a sweet, citrus flavor in the background. The Eucalyptus is actually a light menthol taste that gives the same subtle burn in the lip as Wintergreen flavored snus would give. The combination of the minty flavor, citrus and light menthol taste gives CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini a great taste as well as another unique element, the scent in the can. CatchDry Eucalyptus Mini is one of a few snus brands that has no ammonia scent! The only thing you smell is the minty, menthol aromas with a hint of sweetness that comes from the citrus. This is a good snus. The flavor was great and lasted for the entire time I kept it in. I like the mini portions for when I just want a little bit of nicotine and these seem to do the job. I guess you could compare the flavor to the Camel Frost but that would be an insult cause this Catch is 100 times better. smile;)

I agree with the other comments posted, it is a great beginner's snus. The flavor is minty and refreshing, and it doesn't have the artificial sweeteners in it as the catch dry peppermint does that I have had from a local tobacconist. I much prefer eucalyptus. That said, it is great for those who want to be more discreet while snusing.

This is an excellent beginner's snus. If you've only tried American snus, like Camel or Marlboro, this snus is a little bit stronger, but still doesn't have as much of a nicotine kick as the standard Swedish varieties. Another benefit is that the mini portions are less noticeable when you're out in public. No one else has to know that you're snusing. These portions are "dry," meaning that they are less likely to drip into your mouth as you salivate, which a beginner is more likely to do. For that reason, they last a long time. They have a very refreshing eucalyptus flavor. The package is small, and so fits in the pocket easily. Highly recommended.

First real Swedish snus I tried. I like it. Not something I want to do every day, and I've since graduated to regular sized portions, but this is a nice first snus.
