Go back Our Catch Eucalyptus, White Portion ReviewLaunched in 1984 and manufactured by Swedish Match, Catch White Eucalyptus portion snus is classified as a White type portion meaning that the portions don’t go thru the final step in the manufacturing process that adds a little more moisture to each portion before they get packaged in the can. Omitting this step leaves the portion white in color and a bit dryer than a regular type portion but Swedish Match uses the same soft portion material in Catch White Eucalyptus as they do in most all their snus and is comfortable in the lip for over 2 hours. Each can of Catch White Eucalyptus contains 24, one gram portions with 8 mg of Nicotine each. The can is made of grey plastic with metallic flakes embedded in it to give the can a stylish look with the used portion compartment in the lid but, enough about the can. Let’s take a look at the flavor! Catch White Eucalyptus’ flavor is unique but unknown to some Americans, especially those who have never tasted Eucalyptus. So, we’ll do our best to describe what Catch White Eucalyptus tastes like. While most people think of medicines or cough drops when they hear Eucalyptus, this is not the case here. Catch White Eucalyptus has a minty flavor that is a cross between Wintergreen and Peppermint with a sweet, citrus flavor in the background. The Eucalyptus is actually a light menthol taste that gives the same subtle burn in the lip as Wintergreen flavored snus would give. The combination of the minty flavor, citrus and light menthol taste gives Catch White Eucalyptus a great taste as well as another unique element, the scent in the can. Catch White Eucalyptus is one of a few snus brands that really has no ammonia scent! The only thing you smell is the minty, menthol aromas with a hint of sweetness that comes from the citrus. Another great offering from General. It may not be the strongest snus you ever tried, but it is about average in the nic department. It has a nice clean flavor, refreshing actually, more about the eucalyptus that the tobacco flavor, but that is not a bad thing. It is an interesting flavor, and it seems to last well over an hour. If you like minty/mentholated snus, you should certainly give it a try. I was unsure if I would like it at first, but when I got my order of three new flavors, it was the first one I tried, and all uncertainty disappeared at that moment! Of those three new flavors in that order, (General Mint, Thunder Frosted mini, and Catch Eucalyptus) this is the least sweet of the bunch, which is nice, as sometimes the sweetness can become overpowering by the end of the day, this one I could use all day long and never get burned out on. Another one that I will re-order, and add to my regular rotation.

I love eucalyptus. I love menthol. This snus is neither one. I've tried this one out for a couple of weeks praying to the snus gods to show me some way of appreciating a Catch product. They did not answer my prayers. It has about the same level of dryness as the horrible American marlboro snus. It is almost impossible to get taste or any kind of buzz from it. This is one overrated snus. Really disappointing. Gottlandsnus (any flavor) or General's mint & wintergreen are much better.

Not too minty (like Camel Frost), not too large, not too drippy but a bit on the weak side. I propose that they are perfect for women.
They're also great for users of regular SNUS for a refreshing change of taste or to double up with weaker SNUS that you have laying around or even to extend the buzz of one that you're already enjoying. As part of an assortment box, I plan on keeping a can of these around for when my mouth needs a refreshing break (or until I find a better minty brand). I see that Catch has a large variety--I'll have to try a few of them.

Very well made snus. Comes in the spiral packaging that is common for the General brand--which means the portions are wedged and consistently sized. The portions themselves are very well made and do not come apart like General Wintergreen which pretty much cripples that flavor.
The taste is quite nice--minty, with that nice burn traditional of American made chewing tobacco. It is a little on the salty side but not overpowering enough where you wouldn't want to use it. This seems great to use early in the morning after you have your high Nic count wake-me up snus. Overall: 8.5/10 twitter.com/f1nalboss

Since I began enjoying snus I have stuck with the classic type flavors found in regular General and Skruff. Rarely do I depart but this one is the exception. The eucalyptus flavor presents clean and natural and seems to enhance the tobacco flavor rather than hide it. Not sure but I suspect something about the ph balance of this snus makes the nicotine delivery more efficient. I keep two cans open - one of this and one of General or Skruf.

I was considering ordering this when placing my first order for snus, but finally decided that I didn't like Eucalyptus.
So I ordered a loose sample-pack, and this one happened to be included in it - and I'm /so/ glad that it did! This has quickly turned into my favorite snus, followed by the General Dry Mint & Wintergreen flavors. I had bought snus in an attempt to quit smoking, and I've been a menthol smoker for years, so the General Mint flavors were what I figured I would be attracted to (after having sampled and compared the Camel Frost), and while I do really enjoy General's minty goodness, I've found the mellower aroma & flavor of the Eucalyptus to absolutely hit the menthol sweet spot. I've quickly run out of my first can, and even though I've got 15-20 other varieties of snus in my fridge, I'm considering placing another order just to get more of this!

The eucalyptus was so overpowering that it hid all other flavors. As an American not use to eucalyptus flavoring, I did not like it. I imagine Catch Eucalyptyus is one that will be best enjoyed by people who are more accustomed to eucalyptus flavoring. As for me, I will not be buying this one again.

My new favorite, now that I"m not using loose product. Skruf is too strong for me but this has a nice balance and the mint is not overpowering.

I have used Snus for nine years or so and have tried many different types and flavors and I really like this product it has the perfect balance of taste. I am a General lös user for the most part but I really like this.

I really wanted this to be better than it was. I was excited to try it and had high expectations. It is very salty and 'leaked' too much. It would be okay occasionally but not everyday for me. I did enjoy the minty flavor, but the salt overpowered it in my opinion.

I didn't like this at all... the eucalyptus flavor really turned me off
 But since I'm new to snus, it was part of my 10 pack starter set. I'm glad I tried it... now I know.

I am s new snus user and an ex smoker. Just got this in my sample kit. I just put this in about 10 minutes ago and must say its quite strong. I am almost dizzy from the nic hit! Nice mint taste but also has a strong tobacco taste to me. Will have to try it for a while to see if I like it.

Not a taste I would want all the time, but a nice refreshing pop to break up the routine.
