Thunder Mel Oh!

“I could keep it in for more than an hour, suprisingly with the aroma still intact”

Thunder Mel Oh! Chewing bags

The very first time I tried melon-flavored snus, I was on vacation on an swedish island called Gotland. I remember I liked it so I was really glad to try the Thunder Mel Oh! I ignored the fact that it’s chewing bags beacuse of an earlier bad experience I had, and I’m just gonna use it as reguar snus.

When opening the can the smell of melon hits me, it smells lovely, fruity and fresh. I’m intrigued. The pouches are a bit dry but that’s because they are chewing bags. Putting a pouch under my lip it takes a few minutes for the snus to get moist, but when it does I can really taste the melon; it tastes great! After about five minutes I can feel the nicotine giving my body the calmness it wants, this snus is pretty strong! And because the pouches are dry (if you don’t chew on them first) I could keep it in for more than an hour, suprisingly with the aroma still intact. I understand why this snus is popular! I feel like the Thunder Mel Oh is the perfect snus for summer. A glass of rosé by the ocean, warm summer breezes and cool summer nights out dancing under the star-filled sky.

Jakobsson’s – Äpple & Skogsbär

“It smells exactly like apple candy”

Hello friends!

I’m about to review the Jakobsson’s – Äpple och Skogsbär (translation: Apple and Berries)

Jakobsson’s have, as I’ve said before, the gift to make every can representative and recognition for the brand. You can look at every can they’ve ever made, and be like “Yepp, that’s a Jakobsson’s”. And I like that! That means that they have made the effort for making every can unique, but still representative for what they make. I admire that.

The can…
The background of the can is orange, but not as an typical orange. It’s more like an autumn-colored orange. So you will for sure have the right feeling for a walk in the woods! Everything else is more common to Jakobsson’s other cans – The golden brand logo, with the white cursive flavor stamp under it. It’s like to watch a painting you really enjoy!

So once I opened the can, a sweet smell breezed out of it. It smells exactly like apple candy. Not the green sour apples (Think they are called Granny Smith?), but the sweet apples that you have in a pie. Hehe, anyhow! The bags are pretty moist, and are in a need of adjustments before you put it under your lip. Once I’ve put a pouch under the lip, I feel a sweet taste spread in the mouth – yes, the candy taste. This far in, it seriously don’t feels like I have a pouch under the lip. But, as from earlier experiences, I know this isn’t the lasting feeling. So, after about 30 minutes the nicotine kicks in. It’s not too strong, and not too sweet. It has a nice balance.

You can easy have it in for an hour and a half, and it is a pretty comfortable pouch to have in. You don’t need to adjust it after a while, as you may have to do with several other pouches.

I recommend this snus for anyone. But if you’re not a fan of flavored snus, don’t try it – cause of all the snus I’ve tried, this easy makes it to the top 3 of flavored.

Overall, I’m giving this a

Until next time,
Robin

Thunder Ultra Winter G

“one of my favorite wintergreen products”

Today we will be talking about the Thunder Ultra Winter G chewing bags!

When you open up the can you are greeted with a beautifully familiar smell of wintergreen with tobacco hints in the background which I’m sure we have all come to live through our snus usage, I mean I know I do!!

The taste is very typical of wintergreen snus if not a bit more mellow then normal but it was nice and long lasting, with it lasting around 75 minutes before the flavor wasn’t noticeable anymore, and next to no dripping at all until about 35 – 40 minutes which is amazing.

This has been my favorite Nordic chew that I’ve tried so far and one of my favorite wintergreen products full stop. I recommend all you wintergreen fans to try it

An easy

Will definitely be having this one regularly without a doubt.

Jakobssons Wild Mint CB

“distinguished chilly tingling sensation when placing it under the lip”

This one was a bit tricky… Jakobsson’s Wild Mint chewing bags are not that different to Jakobsson’s snus to be honest. The difference is only noticed under the lip, due to tobacco being cut differently. The trick is to chew the bag gently several times to get that nicotine and taste kick sooner.

So, let’s go to the can, shall we… Jakobsson’s Wild Mint CBs has a gentle but stable and quite distinct mint flavor with a hint of herbal scent, and quite a scent it is… When you open the can, you immediately get slapped by a sharp smell of menthol, spearmint, multiple herbs and peppermint. Just to enhance the aromas and smell, the bags are moist as well, so there will be no problem with almost instant aroma and nicotine kick.

Since we are talking about a mint CB, there is that distinguished chilly tingling sensation when placing it under the lip, and it expands through your breathing cavities – mouth and nose both! It tastes quite sweet, like candy made of mint mixed with a dash of chocolate (even though the chocolate is not present), the peppermint, spearmint and menthol are balanced quite nice, and herbal presence is just right (it only accents out the aroma, which is a nice touch). The thing that is odd here, you almost can’t even taste the tobacco, which can be a deal breaker for some consumers.

Nicotine kick is quite fast, and does not wear off so easy. Flavor time-span is on the low side, takes up to 45 minutes to wear off completely, and it’s kind of a bummer to lose the taste so fast. Trust me, you’ll want to have that thing in your mouth for at least 1.5 hours after you get addicted to it. That’s what she said… 😊
This one is quite tricky to put a grade without some good thinking… On the plus side, we have aroma, great kick, almost instant effect; but on the other hand we have almost no tobacco taste, low aroma time-span… Leaving it on the down note, in hope they fix either the taste or aroma lasting:

Skoal Mint Snus

“I am impressed with the menthol’s bite”

Skoal Mint snus by the U.S. Smokless Tobacco Company is an American entry into the snus market. It is not the first American attempt at snus; there have been several mediocre attempts already. This is the first American snus that I have seen resemble the quality in production and taste of European products. The Snus itself comes in large, white-style pouches and is similar in style to a “maxi” brand.

The snus is a heavily mentholated, rather sweet mint, and, honestly, does not taste half bad. It is not a subtle taste; the menthol hits the lip quickly and powerfully.  All in all, however, the mint flavoring does not distinguish itself compared to other brands. It is sweet, almost cloyingly so. I am more impressed with the menthol’s bite, but menthol is a personal favorite of mine. This is not my favorite snus, and I most likely would not seek it out, however, it certainly works in a pinch and is altogether agreeable.

Nicotine wise, this is a comparatively weak snus. It gets the job done, but it won’t impress you. The nicotine asserts itself mildly about a minute after using the snus and is gone just as quickly in about fifteen minutes.

All in all, it isn’t a bad snus, but you have much better options for a mint snus.

I give this snus a

Kapten Melon Extra Stark

“I enjoy a fat bag of Kapten”

Alright, so I’ve tried alot of different variations of snus in my life. They’ve been flavored and non-flavored.

Let’s try KAPTEN Melon Extra Stark!

The box is a regular snus box and if you’ve had Kapten before you’ll know that they have a specific sigil and the text KAPTEN written all over the box.
“Kapten” means Captain in Swedish and to be honest, hitting up a snus with Melon flavour didn’t seem like their type of thing. I opened the package and the smell of Melon was actually non existant. The only smell coming from that box was the regular Kapten smell. Once opened, I picked up on of the bags, basically they have these fat bags compared to the rest of the snus industry that in general creates regular, thin sized bags. I don’t know about you but I enjoy a fat bag of snus. You might have to snus for a couple of years before enjoying that type of snus under your lips.

The taste doesn’t hit you straight away, it takes a while for the snus to get soaked and the flavors to be mixed up in your mouth, it actually took longer than I expected. After a while I could feel a small hint of melon, but mostly the other snus flavors overtook that part of the job. It’s actually a bit difficult to mix your own flavors with a totally new flavor.

Kapten has great snus usually but I have to say that I’m a bit dissappointed with this one.
