Side Effects of Nicotine Pouches

Are Nicotine Pouches Safe?

Tobacco products have gained the label of being both harmful and addictive, with The World Health Organization (WHO) label tobacco as one of the biggest health threats in our society. But how safe are nicotine pouches in comparison? Nicotine pouches are without any tobacco, being made with either synthetic nicotine or nicotine that has been extracted from tobacco leaves.

What are the side effects of nicotine pouches?

As with any nicotine products, there are potential side effects. However, the two most common that come with using nicotine products are nausea and addictiveness.

Nausea. One of the short-term side effects of nicotine pouches include nausea and even hiccups. This is often as a result of ingesting too much nicotine too quickly or using pouches that are way too strong for you. However, this is usually only a short-term effect and it can be fixed.

Addictiveness. Obvious or not, it is a fact that nicotine is addictive. While nicotine products are a way to enjoy nicotine without smoke or tobacco, it is still an addictive substance.

Nicotine Pouches and Oral Health

Regular use of nicotine pouches can sometimes leave side effects in the mouth. Two of the side effects to your oral health are cavities and issues with gums.

Cavities. As a lot of nicotine pouches use sweeteners, one potential side effect is cavities.

Gums. Nicotine pouches can affect the gums. As nicotine restricts your blood vessels and blood flow, it can have a negative impact on your gums.

Do All Nicotine Pouches Have The Same Side Effects?

Most brands of nicotine pouches will most likely have the same effects. This means that ZYN side effects will be fairly similar to On! Side effects. Why? Because nicotine pouches are all made up of comparable ingredients - the major differences will be in the nicotine strength and the flavorings each brand uses.
