These General Terms and Conditions apply to all orders of goods that you complete as a consumer on our website. By completing your order, you agree to comply with the terms. Northerner reserves the right to make changes to the terms at any time. Each change is published on this page and is valid from accepting the terms by a new order or 10 days after Northerner informed you of the changes.

You agree that by accessing the site, you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all these terms of use. If you do not agree with all these terms and conditions, then you are expressly prohibited from using the site and you must discontinue use immediately.

Age Requirement

To place an order with us you have to be 18 years or older.
*The minimum age requirements for tobacco use at your location might vary, please check with your local authorities.

We have an age verification for our EU customers at checkout. If you’re unable to complete the age verification, please contact customer support.

Payment

Our business model is built for transactions to customers with the intention of private consumption, therefore we have a set of policies to ensure compliances. As a consequence, we do our outmost to prevent shipping of orders that may be intended for re-sell and our systems will automatically flag orders or customers that demonstrate non-compliance.

Orders of high amounts or quantities may be manually reviewed. Customers are then contacted to confirm that their order is in line with our policies and intended for private consumption. Upon confirmation we will assess and (potentially) release the order. Due to this, the order processing time may last until the assessment is complete.

We currently offer two payment options:

Credit Card

This option enables you to pay instantly by card on our website. We accept Visa, Mastercard and AMEX. In order to ensure a secure online payment we use the services of PAYEX**. Please choose PAYEX as payment option at checkout. The currency we use on our site is Euro for our EU customers. This means that all credit card orders despite the currency chosen on our site will be charged in Euros. You will however be able to see all charges in the currency of your choice even on your invoice.

**PayEx is a full-service payment provider based in the Nordic region. For more information regarding PayEx, please visit their website www.payex.com

Bank Wire Transfer

You have the option to pay by bank transfer for orders from 25.00 euros. This option allows you to manually transfer the amount to us. You will receive the payment details with your order confirmation email. As soon as we have received your payment your order will get approved and an invoice confirmation will be sent to your email. Please note that your products will not ship until the order has been paid.

Please make sure to take into account any additional currency exchange or other bank fees. Do not forget to enter your order number as reference. An international bank transfer takes 2-5 business days to clear.

*Orders to Latvia can only be paid by bank transfer.

Shipping Destinations

We ship to all EU countries with exceptions to Finland, Estonia and Lithuania.

We ship to Norway on our Norweigan website snus.com.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs vary depending on weight and destination, and what shipping options are available to your destination. Once you’ve placed the items of your choice in the shopping cart and filled in your address details the shipping costs can be calculated and will be displayed.

Shipping Methods

We currently offer three types of shipping:

Regular/Priority Mail: Your order will be delivered with your local postal services. Unfortunately there is no tracking option for this shipping method if you order from the US or Swedish warehouse. Tracking is however available from the Danish warehouse for this shipping method.

UPS: Some countries can choose UPS Standard or UPS Express from the Swedish and Danish warehouse. This will be displayed at checkout.

DHL Express: Some countries can choose DHL Express from the Swedish warehouse. Includes DHL Tracking.

Order Processing Times

We aim to ship all orders within 48h after payment has been matched with your order. However, we do not guarantee shipping within 48 hours, for example if you have ordered out of stock products. Our warehouses operate Monday to Friday with exceptions for national public holidays.

Please note that bank transfer payments may take up to 5 working days to reach us. Once the payment has been matched, your order will be packed and shipped out.

Shipping Times

We offer shipping from three different warehouses and use both UPS, DHL and Regular/Priority Mail service. Therefore, shipping times vary. Below you can see estimated shipping times. Please note that these are stated in business days (Monday-Friday).

*** Adult signature requirement, the minimum age requirements might vary, please check with your local authorities. You have to be at the delivery location to sign for your package when it arrives. UPS makes 3 delivery attempts before returning the delivery to us. UPS only delivers to physical addresses, not to PO box, or APO/FPO addresses. This due to the adult signature requirement.

Change of Shipping Address

Due to strict tobacco regulations we can´t change the delivery country of any orders. We can only change the address as long as an order has not yet been shipped. Please make sure that your address is correct when you place your order. If you have provided us with a faulty or incomplete address and your order has already been shipped there is unfortunately nothing we can do. We do not refund nor reship shipped orders with address faults. We also do not refund or reship orders that were sent to a temporary address (for example hotel addresses during your holiday) and did not arrive in time before the end of your stay. Please make sure to state a shipping address where you will be staying for a duration of at least 2 months from the date of the order placement.

Customs

Tobacco and nicotine products do have a lot of regulations regarding them around the world which is good to have in mind when placing an order with us.

When ordering to some countries you might have to pay a fee when the package arrive in order to receive it. We recommend that you check locally or with your local customs how much that fee might be and if there are any restrictions in order to avoid getting a high customs fee when you receive your order.

Below is a list to make it easier for you to know about your specific ship-to country (please note that regulations worldwide change all the time! We will do our best to update frequently to help you avoid paying high custom fees.

Germany
When ordering from the US your package might end up at your local customs, depending on what you have ordered. If there are any delays we recommend that you check with your local customs first before contacting us.

Local import fees? Not that we know of.


For all countries:
We advise you to always contact your local customs to gain information about their policies on tobacco import before you place your order, no matter which country you are ordering to.

All products that are imported might be subject to import duties, taxes and customs handling fees. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be borne by you.

As the importer of a regulated substance you are obliged to know and follow the current laws, restrictions and regulations when placing your order.

We mark all packages with a specific product description of your order and state the full product value.

Orders to some countries are sent out in batches of 5 or 10 products per shipment and day due to local regulations. If your local customs require additional product information for clearance, please contact our customer support team.

If you refuse your order due to local duties, or your local customs refuses your package due to local restrictions there is unfortunately nothing we can do. We do not reship, or refund refused orders since this matter is out of our control.

Return Policy

Due to tobacco being a fresh product we can unfortunately not accept returns.

Reclamations

If there is an issue with your received order or if you have received any faulty items, please contact our customer support team as soon as possible. Make sure to keep the products, packaging and shipping documents intact during the claims period. Please note that you need to report any issues with an order within two months of the purchase date.
